GroupM is the worlds largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally.

We are currently looking for a Head of Partnerships APAC to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for our regional Partnership strategy and manage over $4 billion in media billings across 14 markets in Asia Pacific.

You will be a key partner to our most senior clients. You will work closely with our markets and global investment team in developing Partnership strategy and new trading models that will benefit our clients and business.

You will guide our market investment and client teams in maximizing the delivery of value to our clients and our own performance-related incentives.

  • Lead and create the GroupM APAC platform and preferred supplier partnership strategy
  • Negotiate key platform partnerships on behalf of markets, and agencies.
  • Promote the benefits and value adds of the GroupM partnerships to markets, agencies, and clients, as well as monitor progress with deals.
  • In this role, your goals will be :

    In three months :

  • Become proficient and familiar with local market GroupM leaders and their needs from future partnerships
  • Be clear of where the partnerships are and the needs for the future, and create a partnerships framework to implement across APAC
  • In six months :

  • Negotiated regional partnerships and educate local teams about the overall partnership strategy
  • Created a client partnership strategy booklet for APAC GroupM clients
  • In 12 months :

  • Doubled the number of partnerships based on our agreed deal framework, regionally and locally
  • Implemented and integrate the partnership framework across all APAC markets
  • What your day job looks like at GroupM :

  • Establish key partnerships with preferred partners largely for digital media regionally (and key local market partnerships) that create advantage and value for GroupM advertisers.
  • Successful delivery of existing key client Investment goals, and advertiser packaging of the overall investment value story to new and existing clients
  • Lead and develop the local equivalent leaders to successfully establish world class partnerships with key platforms.
  • Manage the successful delivery of all key partnerships in terms of billing fulfilment, working closely with GroupM services.
  • Successfully product partnership deal sheets for the client teams outlining the client advantage and benefit of the GroupM regional and key local market partnerships
  • Establish a local alternative (to the major global giants digital) preferred supplier strategy (working with the agencies) where we collectively agree video, display, social alternative partners
  • Hold quarterly digital partnership supply summits regionally and locally to bring together all the preferred partners for equivalent year
  • Ensure on a yearly basis there is a client facing local partnership strategy document in place, and regionally (again that is shareable with clients and agency teams)
  • Learning and listening to the local APAC markets and understanding new trends and developments
  • Actively engaging with media owners and negotiating partnerships for the future
  • Analysing spending data to follow change and how markets evolve
  • Working with the agencies to understand clients priorities and strategy, as well as contributing to key client pitches
  • What youll bring :

  • At least 15 years of media experience covering key markets in APAC, ideally with existing regional Partnership and Client Leadership experience.
  • Excellent understanding of digital / programmatic Investment and a perspective on how the group can drive value for clients and new future new normal trading products
  • Strong driver personality with excellent commercial acumen and strong personal initiative and motivation to deliver all trading objectives for clients and the business.
  • Be able to pull together multiple specialist leaders to work collectively to achieve mutual goals, without direct reporting lines
  • Experienced negotiator and driving broader relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Have the energy and enthusiasm to relentlessly drive growth and change across the business and embrace new initiatives and practices, and working around potential barrier
  • A vision for media in a platform world and how to create value for clients
  • Strong relationships and experience building them with media owners
  • Knowledge of basic media buying and key metrics
  • Experience simplifying media deals and articulating their benefit to non-specialists
