Business Risk Consultant with International Private Bank under Business Unit. Reporting to both business team and the risk team
Main Responsibilities
Work with Country Heads where they continue to be responsible for operational tasks
Emphasize efficiency and transparency, working closely with each Operations Manager
Support regionial budget planning and allocation process
Develop and present operations-related investment proposals e.g. relocations; refurbishments / redesigns; new furniture; etc.
Assess operational processes, driving best practice and operational efficiencies
Set and monitor key performance indicators for each Operations Manager e.g., coverage, responsiveness and productivity
Partner with IT to oversee the implementation of IT applications / hardware within the region
Act as one of the points of contact for regional regulators (in addition to the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, Policies & Procedures teams)
Work with Regulatory Affairs, Policies & Procedures team to reinforce the risk and controls framework within the region
Oversee the implementation of operational solutions in response to regulatory and audit findings
Responsibility for certain business continuity issues related to the APAC regional offices
Active look for and develop new ideas to work smarter in the APAC regional offices
Share knowledge and experience with ROHs from the other regions
Skills & Experience :
Proven 10+ years of experience in a credit / finance / macro analysis / capital markets organisation as either a regional operations or other relevant operations role, or has strong analytical / process analysis background is a must
Strong team player with excellent inter-personal skills, combined with an ability to integrate quickly into an established team and to deal with colleagues and external parties across a wide range of groups globally.
Leverages and builds strong internal networks
Ability to take a strategic view and articulate / explain strategy as well as desired outcomes to a wide variety of stakeholders.
Driven by a desire to achieve practical outcomes, that reflect the goals of the group, the individual will need to provide thought leadership on problem solving, and be recognised internally as the regional operations leader
Commercial mindset - the ability to incorporate the commercial impact of decisions and proposed changes into discussions and reporting
Adjusts priorities to changing circumstances and can delegate effectively
Manages multiple projects concurrently, both long and short-term
Balances own work with management responsibilities
Fluent English essential, other languages in APAC region such as Mandarin considered a bonus, both verbal and written skills
