We are currently looking for a Counsel with significant experiencesetting up alternative investment funds to join our Hong Kong office.
As well as excellent academic credentials, you should possess theanalytical rigor to grasp the legal intricacies of complex private closed-endPE-style funds and open-end funds across a range of strategies, including PE,special situations, credit, real estate and distressed debt.
You will demonstrate excellent communicationskills, and can expect extensive client contact from the start, includingrunning your own transactions with assistance from associates.
Organized andmeticulous, you will demonstrate a flair for legal drafting, and be comfortableworking with limited partnerships, LLCs and exempt companies.
You will also have experience advisingmanagers on house compensation arrangements and in setting up assetmanagement businesses.
Committed and personable, you should enjoy working within largegroups of lawyers and industry professionals, and managing the interests of allstakeholders, who will include leading financial institutions, SWFs, insurancecompanies, pension plans and regional and global fund managers.
Thiscollaborative mindset should be balanced by the independence of thought andaction an ability to proactively anticipate clients’ needs and generatecreative solutions to their problems.
Keeping abreast of regulatory changes as well as the widereconomic climate, you will also be adept at distilling complex information intoclear, insightful analyses that inform and strengthen your client’s position.
Strong organizational and time management skills will also be significant assets,enabling you to manage multiple workstreams and produce exceptional work totight deadlines.
