Commercial Lead - Shops

The shops team at foodpanda aims to redefine grocery delivery in Hong Kong. Since August, we have launched foodpanda shops, a one-stop online shop for groceries and daily essentials.

From a supermarket chain, to a local convenience store, to a flower shop, our shops allow customers to have access to everything they desire anywhere, anytime.

We are looking for a highly-driven and motivated individual to lead shops' commercial team in Hong Kong. If you are looking for a place where you can gain hands-on exposure and have a direct impact, then this may be the place for you! The ideal candidate will have a track record as a driver of innovation, excellence and efficiency, as well as successful project and people management.

About the job

This role will be based in Hong Kong and will report to the Head of Marketplace. This position will play a key role in establishing strategic planning best practices, project management oversight structure and the end-to-end services to our business partners.


  • Create new and innovative commercial plans and projects which aligns with our business goals and direction.
  • Acquire the best shops based on data and sales potential and bring them onboard to our platform.
  • Always looking ways to maximize the sales potential of our current partners.
  • Continuously improve existing processes to drive efficiency.
  • Identify, understand and provide insightful ongoing market trends and market & competitor updates.
  • Represent our brand to build our profile. Lead the commercial team to deliver and achieve business objectives by coaching, training, and uplifting the team.
  • Requirements

  • Proven commercial and management experience. Experience in food & delivery, start-up, high tech, retail or eCommerce industry is a huge plus.
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial / budgeting processes
  • Can work under pressure;
  • Assertive, hands-on, dynamic and with a strong drive;
  • Strong capability in building and executing strategy around revenue growth and key accounts performance with a data driven mindset.
  • Proven sales record and continually exceeding targets.
  • Self-motivated and with the ability to motivate others;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Start-up mindset highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude that’s not afraid to work independently when required.
