Assistant Communications Manager

The appointee will work in the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Technology) to assist the Communications and Public Relations Manager in promoting University’s research achievement to different target audience (both local and international) and the large-scale flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme HK Tech 300.

The appointee will be responsible for :

  • Developing and implementing effective marketing and communications initiatives for HK Tech 300;
  • Generating contents for on / offline promotions for HK Tech 300 and CityU research achievements for different target audience;
  • Preparing marketing and promotional collaterals and souvenirs (e.g. leaflet, brochures, E-newsletter and social media);
  • Liaising with vendors and agencies for different on / offline promotional materials and channels;
  • Working with teammates to develop effective digital marketing initiatives;
  • Providing support in event management; and
  • Performing any other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications / Journalism / English / Translation / Marketing or related disciplines;
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related fields;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Putonghua and Cantonese);
  • Mature, independent, well-organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated with problem solving skills, analytical mind and eagerness to learn;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Familiarity with the media trends;
  • Flexible and willingness to work under pressure;
  • Interest and curiosity in science and technology preferred; and
  • Experience in video production, event management, marketing communications in technology or start-up related industry is a plus.

    Salary and Conditions of Service

  • Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract;
