Position Overview

The Product Technician is responsible for tech pack creation in PLM for core, repeat and carryover programs.

They are an integral part basic product creation and data integrity of tech packs . This role provides exposure to Design, Tech and Product Development teams.

The Product Technician needs strong communication, organizational skills as well as a heightened attention to detail.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create tech packs in PLM from templates to properly execute sampling / production to Design intent - This includes model / fit / construction, packaging combo kitsand necessary pattern zip pattern files in PLM for basic core and repeat bodies.
  • Ensure that a complete handoff is received with all the appropriate components to build a complete tech pack.
  • Owner of Tech Pack reviews to ensure accurate information is uploaded in PLM.
  • Daily communication with NY / HK Tech partners and other cross functional members.
  • Responsible for tech pack data integrity across several programs in a seasonal calendar.
  • Must ensure seasonal calendar deliverables for the team are met.
  • Support other team members when needed with workload or special projects.
  • E- mail, phone and video conference communication with NY / HK offices.
  • Track workload efficiently to meet individual deadlines and pull reporting from PLM when needed.
  • Attend fittings and sample reviews as well as key milestone meetings for exposure to teams and overall process.
  • Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Degree or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years in apparel related role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Responsible and accountable.
  • Ability to proactively problem solve.
  • Knowledge of 3D programs a plus.
  • Illustrator sketching a plus.
  • Computer Skills : Gerber, PLM, Adobe Illustrator, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
