About the Role

This is a blended role expected to perform both hands on and management responsibilities in several areas (Implementation / Product Support), managing the client onboarding and supporting our customer base (members) in Liquidnet’s Asia Pacific business.

This role requires a high level of technical competency, as well as strong people skills and enthusiasm for working on a wide range of responsibilities such as project Management, Testing, SQL development, Implementation with clients offsite, Product Support within a collaborative team working environment.

Working closely across the Asia region (HK / AU / SG) as well as other offices globally (US / UK), the role will support Hong Kong office requests and our core customer base for our proprietary technologies on the Liquidnet ATS, Trading Desk and Algos.

This candidate will have proven experience in supporting a front office equity trading desk (including OMS and Algo Trading system), as well as leading projects, people, managing multiple stakeholders, driving business outcomes both independently and in teams with limited guidance.

The role will add depth of experience to a strong team across the region and be looked upon as a frontrunner for this function, using initiative and a pro-active nature to effectively drive solutions within a larger plan.


  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support and enhancement to the Liquidnet ATS and electronic traded Algos.
  • Capability to step in and manage the team’s priorities and workloads
  • Motivating the current team & getting involved in their development where necessary
  • Drive client on-boarding process through pre and post sales technical advice
  • Work with EMS / OMS Vendors to define specifications for FIX or other proprietary integrations
  • Support Liquidnet Proprietary Interfaces for various EMS / OMS vendors
  • Manage client applications upgrades and new functionality deployments
  • Work closely with the Sales team to support our core customer base
  • Manage New Feature validation across the region Sales team / Customer focused
  • Help train Technical and Sales teams on new product features
  • Provide support for SQL and FIX Technologies for in house applications and client OMS integrations
  • Support all 3rd party FIX connectivity
  • Work with team to handle day to day requests for the region
  • Escalate problems as needed to local or global team.
  • Provide offsite technical support to our clients as required
  • Work closely with the Compliance team to provide analysis of incident (root cause, corrective action etc.)
  • Essential Skills

  • 8+ years of working experience in Financial Technology industry either at brokers, asset managers or trading system vendors
  • 5+ years experience in supporting Algorithmic Trading Systems
  • Hands-on experience supporting electronic trading flow business
  • knowledge of Asian equities market
  • Knowledge of order routing, troubleshooting algo flow
  • Experience in electronic and algo trading configuration and promotion of configuration changes to production a must
  • 5 years+ in writing SQL on any of MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase database environments
  • Front office application support experience
  • Experience with FIX certification / connectivity
  • Knowledge of at least one buy-side or sell side order management system
  • Experience in driving global and regional projects / initiatives
  • Ability to put together project plans and coordinate projects
  • Proven experience of success in high pressure / high demand environment
  • Ability to have technical discussions with clients and vendors, client facing experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and technical writing
  • Working in a transparent environment and comfort level providing appropriate status updates
  • Gather and communicate clients’ requirements to other team members in other regional offices
