Position Overview

Securities Technology is responsible for providing trade capture, Clearing, Settlement, position keeping and asset servicing functions.

We support the multiple Corporate and Investment Banking business lines across Equities (Equity Trading, Prime Brokerage and Securities Finance) and Fixed Income (Credit and Rates bond trading and Repo) asset classes.

We are in the process of transforming our technology and operating model to provide a simpler, more efficient and lower cost landscape for Global Markets Securities.

Key responsibilities :

  • Understand Business / client needs and develop sustainable solutions to meet these
  • Clearly and concisely define the solution design & use cases
  • Working closely with the broader solution team to determine the impact of the infrastructure changes & decommissioning existing legacy services
  • Ensure solutions adhere to bank standards and acknowledged good design practices.
  • Good understanding of post trade securities processing & lifecycle (primarily Clearing & Settlement)
  • 5+ years of experience as a developer in a financial services environment.
  • Hands on experience developing scalable systems in high throughput environments
  • The ability to deliver solutions when under pressure
  • Experience of providing functional / architecture solutions on many applications.
  • Good understanding of the full SDLC process.
  • Tech Skills

  • Experience with database development (Oracle PL / SQL), data retrieval and persistence (Oracle preferred) and understand performance improvement techniques
  • Unix shell scripting
  • Core Java skills
  • Used modern SDLC techniques (e.g. TDD, CI, fully automated testing, pervasive use of code review)
  • Hands on experience with messaging middleware (e.g. Solace, JMS, MQ)
