Deal structuring and risk appetite

  • Work with experts across RGA to innovate on structures which could address clients’ financial objectives
  • Work with different internal parties to develop the infrastructure in supporting hybrid structures
  • Liaise internal escalation / approval on behalf of local BU
  • Consolidate the required input from internal parties and clients and any material required for escalation / approval
  • Hybrid structure pricing

  • Deliver pricing models for potential hybrid structures for viability assessment
  • Assess and analyze risk exposure in potential hybrid transactions, with focus on the additional risks introduced under the proposed hybrid structure
  • Provide actionable recommendations which could balance RGA and clients’ interest
  • Work with pricing team to provide input used for hybrid pricing, including but not limited to pricing interest rate and capital assessment framework
  • Client visit and relationship management

  • Have a good and up-to-date understanding of client companies’ capital requirement, pricing targets and client’s main issues
  • Together with local BD team, develop and present expert presentations to sell RGA solutions
  • Internal communication

  • Convey clearly any issues / questions to other teams and clients in a timely manner
  • Work with treaty team and regional team to review on hybrid related documents
  • Information sharing Keep abreast of technical issues related to hybrid structures

  • Understand local accounting, solvency and other insurance regulations
  • Understand financial statements, embedded value reports and other public information for major account clients
  • Continuously learn what hybrid solutions RGA has placed or offered in other countries
  • Learn and stay up to date on relevant corporate guidelines which potentially impact hybrid transactions
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related field
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent
  • 6-8 years of actuarial experience in life insurance and / or reinsurance and / or banking
  • Experience in financial reporting or accounting experience
  • Experience in pricing, designing or marketing insurance business is a plus
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player, ability to collaborate with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
  • Enjoy problem solving and ability to translate business needs to viable solutions
  • Result and customer oriented
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received
