The Payroll & Benefits Manager is responsible for running full cycle payroll and all related activities for 4 payrolls for + employees (unionized and non-unionized) across Canada.
This includes all aspects of the preparation, processing and financial reporting related to the payroll system and ensuring overall compliance with provincial, and federal requirements and the timely processing of semi-monthly payroll.
changes, new hires, terminations, overtime, employee referral bonuses, garnishments, ROE and vacation pay, etc. for all full time salaried, hourly, contract, virtual, union and part-time employees across multiple business units.
Processes manual / off-cycle pay as required.Oversees the group insurance benefits and pension enrollment process including new hires, changes, terminations and reporting.
Assumes a lead role and coordinates the payment of group insurance and RRSP contributions. Liaises with benefits and pension providers as required.
Prepares reconciliation for semi monthly payrolls, and monthly benefit and pension reporting.Prepares and reconciles the semi-monthly General Ledger wages journals.
QualificationsCollege Diploma (or equivalent) in Business Administration, HR or Finance or a related field is required.Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration in multi-province, multi legal entity payroll and benefits is required
