Lead the team on the valuation and reporting under statutory reporting basis and to deliver other regulatory reporting work, including quantitative analysis for the development of the HK Risk-Based Capital (RBC) framework.

Perform various sensitivities and stress testing to understand the key drivers of the results and communicate these results to management.

Work closely with other teams to manage and optimize the statutory solvency position.

Job Descriptions :

  • Lead the production of various regular submissions to the HK Insurance Authority (IA) and fulfil any other regulatory requests from the IA, including the Dynamic Solvency Testing (DST).
  • Conduct methodology and assumption (M&A) review as part of the yearend statutory review.Own the business projection on statutory reporting basis.

  • Regular monitoring with respect to the solvency position under statutory reporting basis, and perform various sensitivities and stress testing to understand the key drivers of the results.
  • Provide regular monitoring to various internal governance such as ALCO.

  • Identify and implement management levers that can be utilized to manage and optimize the solvency position including methodology and assumptions changes, and other ALM and capital related actions.
  • Manage the production and development for the HK RBC framework such as production for Quantitative Impact Study (QIS) and participate in proposing methodology and technical discussion for future RBC development.
  • Identify solution on methodology with respect to regulatory requirements and alignment with internal economic capital framework

  • Provide supervision, guidance and coaching with the subordinates on actuarial knowledge. Escalate any conflicts in staff and work requirements to ensure effective and efficient planning of resources.
  • Job requirements :

  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries, or other equivalent actuarial bodies.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant working experience with at least 2 years of managing tasks and individuals
  • Good knowledge in actuarial concepts, insurance accounting, HKFRS / IFRS, tax and insurance regulatory requirements in HK.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills in both spoken and written English.
  • Proactive, able to work under tight deadlines / pressure and perform multiple tasks when needed.
  • Experience of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders including managing expectations.
  • Experience of managing multiple tasks and assigned staff members.
  • Prophet experience desirable
