The video producer will oversee production of a wide range of video content in order to support marketing and business objectives related to auctions as well as the company’s newly launched Buy Now platform.
The job requires frequent and ongoing collaboration with Sotheby’s editorial, marketing, press and operations teams as well as the specialist departments.
This individual will coordinate and manage all aspects of production from start to finish including creative direction, budget management, writing scripts, organizing logistics, overseeing the post process and working to deadlines.
Oversee all aspects of the production and editing of compelling, original online video content from concept through completion.
Collaborate with relevant specialists and marketing leads, as well as press and editorial teams at inception of each video project to determine priorities and storylines.
Oversee or personally execute treatments, scripts, storyboards and development of projects.
Coordinate and personally oversee video shoots.
Work with appropriate designers to create elements including graphics and animation when needed.
Serve as production point person for Sotheby’s livestreams in Hong Kong
Maintain project schedule and budget compliance.
Conceive, collaborate on, and execute original video content that supports additional marketing and editorial goals outside of sale-related videos.
Make a wide range of artistic decisions that ensure each video is on brand, e.g. choosing the shoot location and / or background, overseeing the use of lighting, determining the shot list, and choosing appropriate music.
Oversee stable of freelance talent (working with HR and keeping within budget) with sensibility and level of experience appropriate for the Sotheby’s brand globally.
5-7 years experience in film / video production.
Highly creative, organized, diplomatic and adaptive, with the ability to work calmly and professionally under pressured, time-sensitive deadlines.
Demonstrable experience in creating video content from conception to completion.
Strong technical understanding of the filmmaking process.
Strong project management skills.
Familiarity with online video distribution channels, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook etc.
Previous experience in digital media in global luxury or publishing brands is highly desirable.
Previous corporate experience is highly desirable
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
