  • To assist Team Manager / Senior Manager in managing the daily operations of the team with the aim to maximizing the productivity of the team and to ensure that efficient and high quality services are provided to our valued customers providing high revenue using a range of import and export services and in the furtherance of achieving maximum profitability of the bank.
  • Monitor workflows to ensure all transactions are promptly processed as reflected by the agreed turnaround times for customers and also to ensure that the nature, complexity and value of transactions are processed by team members who possess the compatible expertise.
  • Train up team members to maximize the productivity of resources available and to ensure that they have the required level of expertise to answer customers’ queries and apply the operational standard required by the Bank.
  • Monitor morale and constantly motivate clerical staff to ensure that optimum level of productivity and service standards are achieved.
  • Maintain control over day-to-day operations to ensure that the Bank’s policies, operational guidelines are duly adhered to by team members and Shared Service Centre (SSC), Kuala Lumpur.
  • Full support to establishment and maintenance of the quality management system in Trade Services.
  • Establish close relationship with the Client Service Group (CSG) at managerial level.
  • Approve transactions.
  • Comply with applicable Anti-Money Laundering / Sanctions Procedures and, in particular, report any suspicious activity to the Unit Operational Risk Manager and Line Manager.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Our Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 5 years trade finance general operational knowledge
  • Good understanding of Letter of Credit operations and UCP rules
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trade documentation and shipping products
  • All around banking knowledge with good understanding of credit control principles
  • Good leadership skills
  • Wide ranging powers of judgment required to protect both customers’ and Bank’s interest.
  • Ability to analysis complex documentary content against L / C terms, multi-countries documentation and cross countries communications.
  • Power to make decision and take action on irregular bills
  • Independent power to organize team to produce optimal productivity / efficiency
  • Freedom within locally approved guideline for authorizing transaction within approved limits.
  • Good understanding of trade operation knowledge including Letter of credit operations and UCP rules
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good understandings of trade related compliance check
  • Good leadership skill
