Google’s Devices and Services Product Area (DSPA) Global Trade Compliance supports and delivers consumer hardware products (e.

g. Pixel phones) to our end-customers globally while ensuring customs compliance with local import and export regulations.

You will manage import & export operations for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. You will also play a key role in evolving process excellence by identifying compliance risks, developing collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, and managing critical projects in both global and regional-specific initiatives.

In this role, you will manage a regional team and will report directly to the Head of Global Trade Compliance.

Minimum qualifications :

  • 10 years of experience with an in-house compliance department, accounting or indirect tax, international trade consulting, or trade law.
  • Experience with APAC import and export regulations, harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) classification, customs valuation, goods and services tax (GST) management, consumer hardware certifications and encryption regimes.
  • Experience building relationships and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Proficiency with analysis, problem solving, and project managment.
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of business strategy with an excellent business acumen.
  • Ability to speak and write in mandarin and cantonese fluently.
  • Provide guidance on import and export compliance requirements and put a wide range of customs, indirect tax, country expansion, new product introduction (NPI), or regulatory requirements into operation alongside key stakeholders (e.
  • g., in-house trade counsels, product regulatory, operations, sourcing).

  • Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures to support trade compliance and cross-border activity.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (e.g., contract manufacturer, vendor, 3rd party suppliers, Customs broker, transportation, distribution centers) to identify opportunities and mitigate customs compliance risks.
  • Oversee internal audits and conduct internal reviews of our trade practices, including onsite reviews of third-party logistics and customs brokers.
  • Assist with a number of global trade compliance programs and initiatives, including policies, playbooks, workflows, training, and compliance toolkits.
