We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Legal Counsel, Digital . Principal responsibilities
Providing legal advice to HSBC Digital Solutions and those reporting to Regional Head of Digital, Asia Pacific on legal issues
Advising on financial services in the digital environment, including retail banking and wealth management regulation, intellectual property, online payments, mobile payments and apps, digital promotions and social media, virtual currencies, data privacy issues, third party supplier contract issues and the use of cloud and cyber technologies;
Digital Financial Services.
Acting as a subject matter expert for Retail Banking and Wealth Management Digital in Hong Kong
Working with other second line of defense functions to identify and manage the risk arising out of digital initiatives in Hong Kong.
Liaising with Group and Regional Retail Banking and Wealth Management Legal and other lines of business in Hong Kong as necessary in relation to digital initiatives in Hong Kong.
Support the business and Group and Regional Retail Banking and Wealth Management Legal to identify and manage the risk arising out of the digital initiatives in Asia Pacific.
Advising on matters that are complex or have potential for significant legal, financial or reputational impact.
Establishing strategic legal policies, and local policies that ensure that the Bank's exposure to legal and regulatory risk related to digital financial services in Hong Kong are managed in a commercially sensitive and practical manner.
Assist the Line Managers in ensuring that senior management are appropriately advised of material legal and regulatory developments and their implications relating to Digital Financial in Hong Kong.
Fluent English speaking and writing, Chinese writing and Cantonese speaking desirable
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of digital contracts, Intellectual Property and Data Privacy and a good working knowledge of the laws impacting the digital provision of financial services in Hong Kong
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of providing legal advice on commercial transactions including advising on legal issues around different commercial structures, contractual structures and providing legal support in connection with commercial negotiations related to carrying out financial services in the digital environment
Detailed knowledge of the digital financial services market in Hong Kong and the developing approach of regulators to this developing market
Strong ability to prioritise
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
