Reporting to Manager, Corporate Actuarial and working closely with the IFRS project team, the incumbent will primarily support the Hong Kong & High Net Worth (HK&HNW) Valuation team on IFRS 17 implementation activities, and may be called upon to also support on other initiatives for the HK&HNW business like LDTI implementation, experience studies, and (simplified) modelling of business.
The incumbent will have the opportunity to learn about emerging practices around adoption of IFRS 17 and LDTI, and the implications to the business.
Support work on RGA’s IFRS 17 implementation project for the HK&HNW business, including contract boundary assessment, validating tools rolled out by the central project team, and dry run exercises
As required, support work on RGA’s LDTI implementation project for the HK&HNW business, including validating tools rolled out by the central project team and dry run exercises
As required, support on experience studies for the HK&HNW business to facilitate valuation best estimate basis reviews (for IFRS 17, LDTI, EV, EC) and to understand the historical experience of the inforce business
As required, assist in modeling of HK&HNW business on Prophet platform or via a simplified modelling technique
Perform valuation work and ad-hoc department projects for the HK&HNW Valuation team as needed and called upon e.g. process improvement, support to other BAU activities
University graduate majoring in actuarial science program, making a good progress on actuarial exams with a globally recognized actuarial association.
0-3 years’ working experience in life insurance / reinsurance companies.
Computer savvy including actuarial software (e.g. AXIS, Prophet etc.) and a strong knowledge in Excel and VBA.
Strong analytical, data management skills, attention to details and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong critical thinking and solutions focused with excellent communication skill in English (both written and verbal).
A highly motivated and conceptual thinker who is able to collaborate in a team environment or work independently and take an active role in a wide variety of assignments.
