Accountable for supporting the Legal Manager and Head of legal in delivering legal support and advice for the legal affairs and legal risk management within Bupa Hong Kong (BHK) across a range of different areas
Accountable for advising on legal affairs and legal risk management within the legal risk management framework set by the Legal Director, International Markets
Responsibility for drafting and advising on commercial contracts with Bupa’s corporate customers, intermediaries and reinsurance partners
Responsibility for developing new and innovative ways of managing legal risk in Bupa Hong Kong and develops policies and processes for areas within the role’s sphere of influence
Works with business colleagues to ensure that a positive legal risk and governance culture is embedded
Protects Bupa’s brand and intellectual property
Ensures high standards of corporate governance in region to meet executive and statutory obligations, including reporting obligations to IM and Corporate Centre
All accountabilities to be carried out in line with IM Legal framework and direction of the Head of Legal and Legal Manager
Knowledge & Experience
Good degree and a qualified lawyer admitted in Hong Kong or equivalent, with between 3-4 years post qualification with experience in an in-
house team preferred but not essential
English plus Cantonese and desirable to have Mandarin skills
Ability to work mostly autonomously and make sound judgement calls
Ability to take a broad view of commercial and organisational issues and objectives and to evaluate legal and operational risks in the context of other risks.
Ability to balance competing objectives from within the Bupa HK team and from business operations. It will require a significant personal effort to get the job done.

Ability to operate as part of a team, including with the Senior , where not all colleagues will be based in the same office / location
