Job Description
Plan, direct and coordinate all IT project activities to ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
Adopt necessary standard and best practices for project management and ensure compliance
Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, negotiate staffing requirements to various project phases
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and subcontractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work;
Decide the project management methodology, i.e. agile, waterfall or hybrid, based on the project nature and organization environment.
Obtain endorsement on such decision and subsequence funding approach from relevant project governance bodies, i.e. PSG, PSC, ECC.
Collaborate with Project Practice Manager to improve project management practices across all IT project
Understands how to leverage project planning and management for competitive advantage
Collaborate with Infrastructure Managers / Leads in the Infrastructure & Operations teams as well as Application Managers, Business Solution Leads and Business Analysts in the IT Solution Centres to drive business and technology innovation to achieve business unit's strategic plan and business objectives
Collaborate with the Enterprise Testing team to define the quality assurance test plans that meet the company practice and standard
Keep abreast of the latest trends in technology and project management practices, ensuring timely exploration and proactively communicate IT's position towards the introduction of relevant / key emerging technologies
Manage the dynamic project team of individuals who constantly search for creative way to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs, partly by capitalizing on emerging technologies and partly by adopting technologies to the needs of the users
Foster a continuous learning and cross-team knowledge sharing culture among project delivery groups
Ability to influence senior executives
Job requirements
Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in project management role
Tertiary qualifications are essential
Proven experience in managing projects with ability to multitask and manage multiple small to medium projects in a cross-functional environment
Detailed knowledge of the following disciplines : project and program delivery, portfolio management, application development management, infrastructure development management, vendor management
Demonstrated leadership potential and with relationship management experience and skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems
Technical proficiency in delivering Infrastructure Projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing user expectations
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels
Ability to coach, motivate and develop others
PMP certification would be added advantage
