The Hong Kong Jockey Club's Information Technology & Sustainability (IT&S) Division drives the implementation of innovative technology solutions in horse racing and football wagering systems in order to deliver a premium service to our millions of customers.

We are currently seeking talented IT professionals with strong technical expertise to contribute to the significant strategic transformation which will allow IT&S to adapt to the changing digital workplace, improve customer experience and accelerate the delivery of new product offerings.
Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary IT teams, you will play an instrumental role in building a digital platform with modern state of the art technologies that will power all of the Club’s service and product distribution channels.
These channels include over 100 betting booths at racecourses, 102 Off-Course Betting Branches (OCBBs), 4 call centers manned by 5000 plus Telebet operators, as well as multiple interactive online and mobile services.
It is a fixed-term contract position of minimum 3 years with possibility for renewal subject to organization need and individual performance.

You will :
Lead software engineering teams engage in the design, build, testing, maintenance and support of customer-facing products and services.
Manage your cross-functional development team in HK and SZ in designing and implementing new services and applications involving real-time wagering products.
Actively lead by example through hands-on code contributions, pair programming and providing constructive code reviews.
Coach your software engineers in best practices and agreed coding standards.
Collaborate with other delivery teams to deliver a high performance, low latency and mission-critical digital platform with common services.
Plan and assign resources to accomplish development tasks, monitor and report the progress.
Assist with the translation of business requirements into user stories and customer journey maps that aligns with architectural standards and roadmaps.

You should have :
Degree or above in Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
3+ years comprehensive experience in adopting Kubernetes and its ecosystem (prefer Certified Kubernetes Administrator) with good understanding on the Best practice, and capability to establish the governance model
Good knowledge in the application of Service Mesh
Successful records in designing, implementing & operating Kubernetes platforms with mission-critical systems at scale
4+ years’ experience in design and development of low-latency microservices with Spring Boot & Spring Framework (prefer Java SE 11 Programmer II and Spring Certified Professional)
Good understanding of microservices design patterns, data structure & algorithm, and system integration
Working knowledge in performance tuning, software engineering, TDD and managing technical debt.
Good communication and problem-solving skills, able to communicate complicated ideas clearly with wide range of stakeholders.
English proficiency (written and spoken) is mandatory, able to communicate in Cantonese and Putonghua is an advantage.
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. An initial contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the individual.
