HSBC Wealth Management leads the Asia-Pacific implementation of our global strategy to deliver world-class solutions to retail and private clients seeking to grow, protect, preserve or transfer their wealth.

This involves the development and management of needs-based solutions covering foreign exchange, deposit, investment, insurance and financing products, as well as the provision of suitable market insights and updates, financial planning and advisory services.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Insurance Proposition Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of Product Proposition and Governance, this exciting new role will play a critical role in developing and delivering the Insurance proposition for HSBC’s Retail Customers
  • Assist Senior Insurance Proposition Manager to develop customer insights, set strategy, create the plan and drive outcomes
  • Collaborate extensively across Wealth Personal Banking (WPB) and working with Insurance manufacturing teams to drive and execute proposition related activities
  • Provide technical support to new product approval process and uphold the risk governance function under the wealth business framework over WPB’s insurance business distribution
  • Support, monitor and risk-control the implementation of insurance related customer journey and channel development activities
  • Assist Senior Insurance Proposition Manager to oversee Premium Financing business development by supporting AOP formulation, performance MI generation and risk control reporting and maintenance
  • Act as the product manager of Premium Financing to facilitate the day to day sale and operation activities by persistently improving product design, connecting with frontline sale, optimizing credit underwriting and streamlining end to end operation process flow.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reporting of issues & risk incidents to risk and control functions, drive for rectification ideas and implement resolution jointly with all internal stakeholders under the guidance of Senior Proposition Manager
  • Ensure adherence to policies, standards and guidelines provided by Group and regulators, and ensure risk remains within our risk appetite
  • Implement and observe Group Compliance Policy. Ensure timely implementation of recommendations made by internal or external auditors and regulators
  • Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in Business and Marketing
  • Solid experience in Insurance product development and Insurance sales or channel development, ideally in a banking environment.
  • Knowledge on Wealth and Lending products will be an advantage

  • Adept in business figure interpretation and performance evaluation. Intuitive with business acumens with sharp insights behind MI report data.
  • A commercial and customer centric mindset with the ability to analyse data, develop customer insights and translate this into business opportunities and plans that are achievable yet stretching
  • Highly motivated, self-initiating individual with a strong desire to make an impact
  • Ability to create presentations and influencing others in a complex, matrix environment
  • Proficiency in English and ideally Cantonese. Mandarin is a plus
  • To be considered for this role, the relevant rights to work in Hong Kong is required.
