Functional Area : UW - Underwriting Estimated Travel Percentage (%) : No Travel Relocation Provided : No AIG Insurance Hong Kong Limited Underwriting Manager - A&H Estimated Group A&H Percentage (%) : 50% Estimated Individual A&H Percentage (%) : 50% This role will work closely with local and regional A&H underwriting team to drive a profitable portfolio business strategy of Group Personal Accident, Group Travel Insurance, Individual Personal Accident, Individual Personal Supplementary Health Insurance.
And also work with closely with Distributions, Claims and Operations, Systems, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance on product strategy planning, product development, major account underwriting and implement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Regularly reviewing existing individual A&H product performance and take remedial actions with relative stakeholders Technical case underwriting Group A&H business of those exceeding producing underwriters and referral communication with regional underwriters when applicable Technical underwriting Individual Personal Accidental and Supplementary Health Insurance, work with team on product growth strategy and new product development plan and implementation.
Work with team members and manager to identify target market segments and to develop business and product strategies Work with the team and manager to achieve both Group and Individual A&H business on production and loss ratio targets Plan and conduct underwriting training to producing underwriting teams to improve team UW techniques Plan and conduct product training to internal stakeholders, distribution, call center team, etc.
to facilitate understanding of product knowledge for sales and service Adherence to all internal and external compliance and authority standards, including implementation of new standards.
Conduct UW guideline review and update annually and regular peer review of producing underwriters cases. And cooperate with internal audit team on regular underwriting audit reviews and take necessary actions on audit recommendations and findings Any other activities and projects assigned.
What are we looking for Minimum 5 years of experience in Accident & Health business development and underwriting. Understanding of local Accident & Health business and good insights on business and product strategy Strong technical underwriting skill to conduct internal UW training and communication with regional UW team Strong team player with results driven focus and customer centric mindset.
