Responsibilities :

  • Elicit and model business requirements / user stories ; using appropriate analysis techniques, understand and describe the business needs in a structure and level of detail that is usable by the particular stakeholders.
  • Deliver through Agile methodologies; having experience working with Agile tools (e.g. Jira), participating in Sprints, backlog grooming and working with Product Owners for prioritization.
  • Conduct business process re-engineering ; using appropriate analysis techniques, understand and describe the as-is and to be processes whilst analyzing the impact on people, process and systems
  • Validate requirements against business objectives ; ensure that the requirements or designs deliver business value and directly support the business objectives and goals.
  • Ensuring that we are using Human Centered Design principles to drive to this outcome.

  • Define Business solution options ; identify, explore and describe the solution (not architectural or technical) options that would achieve the business need.
  • Analyze potential value and recommend solution ; through a clear understanding of the business opportunity and objectives, assess the value that can be generated from the solution options and provide a recommendation to the key stakeholders.
  • Customer focus; determine all requirements, solution designs and business value assessments from a customer perspective
  • Focus on quality ; ensure all outputs are of a high quality and consistency, presented through the defined templates, models and frameworks of the team.
  • Testing ; review and assist the business in test strategy, acceptance criteria development and execution of in-Sprint testing to ensure the solutions built meet business and product owner satisfaction ('
  • definition of done')

  • Transition and change ; assist in the identification of the transition journey from current to target state, and the change management activities / focus areas to enable successful adoption of the solutions.
  • Collaborative working ; multi-cultural, multi-location teams, and cross functional working with teams from other business areas.
  • In addition to the project delivery activities the Lead Business Analyst has responsibilities for managing other Business Analysts and developing the wider BA practice;
  • Lead a team of Business Analysts ; when working on a business opportunity or project to ensure high quality outcomes are achieved within the required timeframes;
  • o Identification of key streams of activity

    o Allocation of activities across the BA team

    o Provision of guidance and support to the team in terms of task execution

    o Close working with the Project Manager to support the delivery and planning

  • Added value to the business ;
  • o Be a Subject Matter Expert for a specific business area or business capability

    o Proactively challenge the business approach, solution design or value focus to ensure the best Minimum Marketable Product (MMP) is achieved

    o Contribute to the Change Management design and delivery

    o Identify opportunities to enhance transformation capabilities in country businesses

  • Identify new ways of working ;
  • o New methods, tools or approaches for business analysis

    o Bring external insights into the team from other insurance players or industries

  • Enhance team maturity ;
  • o Drive consistency and standardization in all work and outputs

    o Identify opportunities to improve working practices and relationships with other teams

    o Increasing the team brand and acting as an ambassador for the department

  • Line management for BA's ;
  • o Active contribution to the BA development plans and performance reviews

    o frequent monitoring and measurement of performance

    o Realignment of objectives and focus

    Qualifications and experience :

  • Degree holder, or equivalent, of Business Administration, Information Systems / Technology or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of solid business analysis experiences in Financial Services (products, administration or distribution domain), ideally with specific Life Insurance or Wealth Management knowledge
  • Strong people manager preferable or recognized experience in managing teams of people.
  • Experience in insurance distribution, operations or digital projects would be an advantage
  • Practical experience in both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills, strong communicator at all business levels, with the ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent facilitation and influencing skills, including ability to work effectively across a large organization, developing strong cross functional relationships
  • Well organized and high attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities
  • Strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
