mile delivery, subscribing to mobility services and much more. Technology that matches supply with demand is shifting the landscape of risk quicker than regulation, and many components of the insurance industry, are able to follow.
The line between commercial and consumer is blurred. New pricing models are being constructed with loss history that is just beginning now.
With this in mind, Marsh launched a new practice focused on sharing economy and mobility.
The company is seeking suitably qualified candidates to lead, manage and grow the Shared Economy Practice for the Asia region.
The role will be part of the Commercial and Consumer Industry Segment Practice, focused on growing Marsh’s presence in the shared economy segment through development and implementation of a strong value proposition to drive product and services development to provide to this key developing segment.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Commercial and Consumer segment, this role will be an individual contributor with the scope to build a team as the business grows.

Shape the strategic direction of efforts in both the Sharing Economy, Gig economy and generally with start ups
Lead business efforts to manage major clients in this segment, lead pitches and assemble and promote the business Value Proposition for clients, insurers and prospects alike
Align the business strategy with the global direction and as part of our capacity to support global accounts
Develop products and placement solution working with the team in the US as well as the Commercial and Consumer Segment Leader and team as well as respective functional leaders to achieve client business objectives
Quantify complex exposures of clients that are disrupting several industries including travel, transportation, hospitality, food and beverage, retail, logistics, staffing and more.
Create new insurance solutions by leveraging actuarial data and manuscripting policy language
Negotiate with insurance markets to secure the best terms and pricing for clients.
Lead the education effort of colleagues in Asia (general and detailed)
Support country C&C practice leaders with enquires on the segment and their needs for specialist input and actions relating to clients and prospects
Represent Marsh at industry events
Support major clients and work closely with regional colleagues to develop and implement digital solutions
10+ years of brokerage, legal, consulting or startup background, preference for experience with complex Casualty programs;
commercial or personal line experience is a plus
Industry background in insurance highly preferred (underwriting, brokerage, P&C, personal lines). Strong understanding of insurance fundamentals risk, exposure, coverage
Demonstrated experience leading value proposition development and delivery
Excellent influencing and oral / written communication skills, ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Highly collaborative work style with ability to work in a team environment & independently
People skills with experience in attracting, coaching, and mentoring teams
Strong ability to paint an inspiring vision and bring others along on the journey
Customer centric mindset
Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to think quickly on your feet
Credible executive presence
Intellectually curious desire to become an expert on risk in the new economy
Comfortable in the gray, operating without a users’ manual
Superior analytical and problem solving skills, critical thinking
Bachelor degree in relevant discipline is required. Post graduate qualification preferred, but not essential
