The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equine Welfare Research Foundation Limited was established in 2020 with a donation of HK$600 million from the Club.
The Foundation’s vision is to constantly improve the quality of life of Thoroughbred racehorses throughout and after their racing careers and to educate the public about equine health and welfare.
The Foundation will do this by funding research and encouraging collaboration between scientists, scholars, veterinarians and those engaged at the forefront of the racing industry whose decisions and actions affect the welfare of racehorses.
You will :
report directly to Director, Equine Welfare Research Foundation / Chief Advisor, Mainland Veterinary Engagement. The primary objective of the role will be to assist Director in preparing material to structure and obtain approval for a feasibility study and then in the execution of the study into a project to build a Veterinary Clinical Training Centre for the Mainland in the Greater Bay Area.
involve engagement with many stakeholders within the HKJC (such as Mainland Affairs, Property, Finance, Procurement, Racing Capital Projects, Legal & Compliance) and outside the Club.
collate and analyse data obtained and to present it in a clear and concise manner way.
achieve a clear understanding of the project, what needs to be performed to undertake a thorough and robust Feasibility Study and assist Director in mapping out a detailed engagement plan to ensure that all critical stakeholders are fully engaged.
determine relevant data that needs to be gathered in order to identify critical issues that may influence the scope of the Feasibility Study and develop and effect a strategy to obtain the data and conduct necessary analysis.
manage overall project objective, scope and major work streams; Establish project timeline and outline key project milestones.
drive the development and implementation of project while acting as a Project Manager by maintaining integrated timeline to safeguard proper control of the project proceeds.
assist with the preparation of materials to present to the Mainland Steering Committee in order to obtain approval to undertake the Feasibility Study and report progress to management on a regular basis.
identify issues that are or are likely to delay progress of the study. Develop and evaluate each possible solutions to resolve the issues.
You should have :
tertiary education or above
minimum 10-12 years of relevant work experience with past experience in conducting Feasibility Studies and project management
prior working experience in leading consulting firms are advantages
good communication skill in both written and spoken English, Mandarin / Cantonese
results-driven, with ability to multitask and manage a diverse range of stakeholders
proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
