Diligence - Manager, Due Diligence Research

Job Location : Hong KongExiger APAC is excited to welcome to our team highly motivated and inquisitive individuals. In APAC, we are based in Hong Kong and Singapore where we deliver top-notch due diligence research to our clients.

We are looking for a resourceful, driven Research Manager with a mix of due diligence expertise and customer service abilities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, quality assurance capabilities, as well as the ability to adapt to fluctuating requirements and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extensive primary and secondary research using a variety of open-source and web-based tools
  • Identification of pertinent information and development of useful insights into the subject
  • Own cases from request to submission
  • Write clear, concise and thorough reports for clients
  • Utilize best practices in research methodology to effectively complete reports for various different clients and of various different scopes
  • Commitment to integrity and thoroughness of research and writing
  • Complete research and writing of cases of all levels of complexity
  • Assist with case administration and team organization
  • Contribute to the allocation and assignment of professional research staff to client projects
  • Align research professionals’ skills and capabilities to client needs
  • Manage the day-to-day external relationships and case orders from multiple client accounts as well as oversee the product delivery process to ensure reports are delivered on time, providing superior client experience across all client engagements
  • Conduct content review for products of all levels of complexity
  • Coordinate with and support other functions, such as Training, to enhance existing methodologies and processes (e.g., updating or developing scope-specific or client-specific training materials for team members) to ensure client requirements are consistently met
  • Actively coordinate with Staffing independently to provide alternative options in scope or delivery options to meet client expectations in their requested timeline, exhausting all options to win engagements
  • Evaluate feedback from clients about our products and services and disseminate to appropriate stakeholders; as needed, assist with the resolution thereof and address with clients
  • Ensure all relevant internal stakeholders are well-informed of client activity, pipeline, feedback, and issues
  • Act as an Exiger Diligence brand ambassador by exhibiting positive and professional behavior both internally and externally
  • Educate clients on Exiger Diligence updates, products, scopes, and processes, as needed
  • Coordinate the order intake process by obtaining all required information (as available) from clients to ensure successful research can be completed, and also to manage client expectations accordingly
  • Support discussions with relevant stakeholders on opportunities or requests on behalf of clients in portfolio, including assisting with the development of presentations, proposals, and vendor metrics
  • Participate in and support calls with clients to discuss new projects or to present adverse findings as needed, setting a collaborative tone to engage clients from a consultative mindset
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team, and deeply engage in client development with local clients in APAC
  • Manage end-of-month case closings in coordination with Finance team and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate revenue recognition and billing of cases
  • Contribute to all other business activities as needed such as supporting the delivery of products and services to clients
  • Knowledge & Skills

  • Professional fluency / proficiency in English
  • Professional fluency / proficiency in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office software including Word
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail
  • Superior comprehension and analytical abilities
  • Excellent logical thinking
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and self-driven environment
  • Organizational and time management competency required
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several projects and assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate vertically and horizontally across the organization
  • Basic knowledge of legal system and politics in China or other Asian jurisdictions such as China, Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia, in order to understand political exposure / connections
  • Interest and understanding of current events, international affairs, financial regulations, economics and / or finance
  • Professional fluency / proficiency in a second Asian language such as Hindi, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, or other Asian languages a plus
  • Experience working with contractors a plus
  • Experience in quality assurance a plus
  • Professional Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required, At least 1.5 to 2 years of experience in the Due Diligence industry, including familiarity with a broad spectrum of product scopes and complexity.
