About the Position
We are seeking a detail oriented and organised self-starter to join our regulatory capital and risk team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on the SFC requirements of Jane Street’s Hong Kong current and future licensed firms but will also involve supporting our regulated entities in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States.
The role requires a certain amount of flexibility as you will have responsibility for the below :
Data management and analysis.
Understanding the impact that the regulations and capital requirements have on the business, especially with new trade flows, and communicating the results / constraints to various desks / groups across the firm.
Preparation of daily reports for capital and risk monitoring.
Monitoring intra-day capital requirements and investigating any breaches / issues.
Preparation of the firm's liquid capital reporting.
Macro-level project management as we continuously seek ways to improve existing processes and procedures.
The successful candidate will gain an excellent understanding of the firm’s trade flows, how the capital rules impact them and how best to optimise and improve capital efficiency.
They will also interact with traders, legal and compliance, and operations on a daily basis.
We are looking for people who enjoy solving difficult problems and can demonstrate the willingness and ability to perform the required tasks.
Previous experience within financial services industry is not required.
You should :
Be a proactive and decisive self-starter.
Have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Have strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Be numerate with strong Excel skills and ability to use complex formulae.
Have the ability to undertake and lead projects and employ a logical approach to solving complex, often open-ended, problems.
Be comfortable taking high-level concepts, filling in the gaps necessary to make informed decisions, and then taking the necessary steps to ensure those decisions are executed.
