The Department of Physicsinvites applications for tenure-track faculty position at the AssistantProfessor level in High Energy Theoryand Cosmology .

Appointment at the rank of AssociateProfessor or above will be considered for the candidate with an exceptionalrecord of research excellence and academic leadership.

Thecurrent faculty in the particle physics and cosmology group at The Hong KongUniversity of Science and Technology include Professor Andrew Cohen, ProfessorTao Liu, Professor Kam-Biu Luk, Professor Kirill Prokofiev, Professor GeorgeSmoot, Professor Henry Tye, and Professor Yi Wang.

The department is expandingits effort in this area by hiring five new faculty in theory and experiment. Further informationabout the Department can be found at .

Applicantsmust possess a PhD degree in physics or a related field. The successfulcandidate should have a strong track record of research in high energy physicsand / or cosmology.

In addition to pursuing a vibrant research program thecandidate is expected to engage in effective teaching at the undergraduate andgraduate levels.

Starting salary will behighly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringebenefits including medical and dental benefits, annual leave and housingbenefits will be provided where applicable.

A contract-end gratuity will bepayable upon successful completion of contract.
