Your role

As Senior Claims Manager - Motor, your main responsibilities will involve :

  • Build and maintain the Motor claims proficiency, by ensuring that development needs are identified, appropriate IDPs constructed and effective coaching for performance progression and talent management in place
  • Set and monitor the team's performance against team objectives and develops / executes on work plan to ensure operational efficiency and the general management of work-load and pressure
  • Keep the team informed of all relevant and appropriate information and fosters good engagement with staff, other functions and our many varied, customers, brokers and intermediaries
  • Participate in the planning process, including the identification of risks, involvement in leading change initiatives and responsibility for budgetary control
  • Site operate within optimum GWM KPI, and work effectively with HR in connection with consistency in pay and reward
  • Build and measure success against customer specific claims handling protocol and / or customer proposition service charter to ensure that we understand & fulfil the needs and expectations of our customers
  • Manage claims proactively to achieve best outcome and monitor service providers' performance in an effective manner
  • Your Skills and Experience

    As Senior Claims Manager - Motor, your skills and qualifications will ideally include :

  • Bachelor degree or above; LLB degree is an advantage
  • Insurance qualification preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of claims management experience
  • Experience of personal injury case handling in a law firm preferred
  • Claims specific team managerial, or supervisory experience is required
  • Knowledge of the legal procedure of personal injury litigated case in Hong Kong
  • Advanced technical skills of Motor insurance and claims services
  • Can describe major trends associated with Motor insurance, services and markets
  • Can outline organizational implications associated with major trends
  • Understand the impact of market forces and regulatory issues on the insurance industry
  • Can compare the company's insurance practices to other organizations
  • Can describe key industry benchmarks and relate them to own organization or functional specialty
  • Extensive experience with all major aspects of Motor claims adjustment process
  • Can describe common benchmarks for measuring the effectiveness of claims functions; able to offer examples of advanced settlement strategies for negotiation
  • Understand legal and contractual framework
  • Understand customer proposition and specific handling requirements
  • Working knowledge of budgetary processes
  • Experience of project and change management
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Recognise and direct delivery of the benefit of providing excellent customer service
  • Able to articulate how to prioritise and work to deadlines
