will lie in 3 broad areas :
Oversee the product governance framework of our growing local fund ranges in APAC;
Facilitate access of APAC clients to our cross border UCITs platforms;
Project manage product related initiatives including go-to market assessment, delivery and lifecycle stages.
What you will do
Lead appropriate product governance through the built of a dedicated oversight committee around local fund platforms in Australia and Japan ensuring funds are structured and managed to meet stated investment objectives within the given regulatory framework
Actively contribute to strategic targets by providing governance advice and technical fund expertise to the broader asset management organization and to external clients as required, helping team to prioritize queries as and when they arise
Support the impact assessment, coordination and delivery of product changes brought about by external factors and regulation
Monitor services provided to the funds, engaging as appropriate with the funds service providers and vendors (e.g. fund auditors, tax consultants, NT Global Fund Services, index license providers, etc.).,
Proactively contribute to enhancements in the local and cross border processes i.e. streamlining the access to our cross-border UCITs platforms, to improve efficiency, effectiveness productivity and the client experience
Perform and enhance the lifecycle management of existing funds in APAC to aid in identification of gaps, establishment of product development priorities and assessment of product commercial viability
Act as a project manager for the product or transaction development process with a focus on product and client requirements, internal policy and external regulations
Keep abreast of market and product trends in the investment industry through building and maintaining competitor and general market knowledge as well as regulatory developments.
Your Knowledge / Skills
Experience in a product governance / management of UCITS Fund ranges within a Global Asset Manager. Exposure to governance from Australia and / or Japan’s fund scheme is advantageous.
Good level of understanding of asset classes (i.e., equity, fixed income, cash and real assets), vehicles (i.e type of funds’ structures, ETFs) and investment styles (i.e., active and passive).
Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment.
Self-starter and team-oriented, with a proven ability to manage projects across cross-functional teams under demanding deadlines.
Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively within and across functions and locales with our strategic product team, sales and relationship management team, portfolio managers, operations staff, legal, compliance teams as well as external service providers (administrator, auditor, etc.).
Client-centric focus and problem-solving orientation.
Results-oriented with attention to detail; strong analytical skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
The ability to work effectively in a large, growing and constantly changing, global organization.
University Degree in business, finance, economics or related fields preferred. 5-7 years of work experience in the investment management industry, with direct experience in investment product management.
