Valuation Risk & Control (VRC) is a global specialized organization within Product Control. VRC is responsible for driving valuation policy and reviewing valuation results.

They own valuation execution for more subjective processes and risk factors. They are responsible for Valuation Governance and challenge BFD on and resolving material valuation issues.

It is a globally distributed team with highly skilled professional across US, Europe and Asia.

VRC’s objective is to mitigate valuation risks with a focus on valuation consistency, accountability, and efficiency.

  • The VRC Equity is principally responsible for Valuation Governance and Execution methodologies.
  • VRC reviews, builds and implements guidelines / procedures for valuation adjustments and price testing in accordance with global policies and standards, with particular attention to the design of the controls across the Equity business.
  • Perform submissions to independent vendor data; and calibrations for price testing and fair value adjustment calculations for Equities.
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely P&L, Balance Sheets and analysis.
  • Evaluate impacts and provide transaction support on new products and businesses. This includes contribution to the ongoing pre-trade approval and new product approval processes.
  • A VRC Equity team member handles regular and ad-hoc requests from global teams, audit, regulatory reviews, e.g. Prudent Valuation Reporting and acts as a business partner to Front Office traders, model developer (Quants Strategies), model validation team (PMV), BFO (Business Finance Officer), PCA (Product Control Analytics) and external vendors like Markit / Totem.

    Your skills and experience

  • We are looking for a proactive team member who has a solid experience in product control, has a good understanding of valuation models and a strong knowledge of equity and derivatives products;
  • cross assets' experience is a plus.

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics or quantitative-related subjects.
  • You have above 5 years proven industry and practical experience in Valuation, Risk or Product Control related functions on equity derivatives and exotic products.
  • You are motivated to learn and to constantly improve processes.
  • You have the ability to handle several tasks and work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • You take ownership of your tasks with strong communication skills and the proven ability to communicate effectively with teams across different locations.
  • Proven knowledge of Excel / VBA; your knowledge and experience of programming is helpful, especially with data science programming languages such as R and Python.
  • You enjoy solving problems, tackling new challenges, and finding creative solutions.
  • You pay attention to details as well as you understand and manage the big picture.
