Prior experience in environmental and social risk management, evaluating clients and transactions for compliance with ESG policies and standards
Experience in working for a financial institution, understanding bank products and decision-making processes strongly preferred
Strong executive presence and influencing skills
Critical thinking skills, capacity to process complex issues, and ability to analyze, interpret and summarize vast amounts of information quickly
Strong writing and research skills, combined with ability to filter, summarize and communicate complex relevant issues to executives and other internal and external audiences
Ability to anticipate potential reputational risks for the company before they arise
Able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to create and maintain work processes and keep work on track across multiple, matrixed teams

Skills Requirements / Qualifications
Prior experience working in an area related to Environmental and Social Risk Management or environmental policy, including experience and knowledge of global industry frameworks including Equator Principles
Comfortable in a complex, fast paced and results-oriented corporate environment
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders comfortably and regularly
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to successfully multi-task and make accurate decisions under short time deadlines and with minimal supervision
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and other business technologies an absolute must
What you can expect
You will operate within the structure of the global ESG Risk Advisory & Disclosure team at a complex, global financial institution.
Reporting into the Asia Pacific Head of ESG, you will function as an ESG Risk subject matter expert and point of contact for colleagues and management.
You will be responsible for working with ESG / Public Policy teammates, lines of business, risk, and other partners to assess and manage environmental and social risk and business opportunities for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
You will also work closely with ESG Risk in other international regions, ensuring alignment in strategy and deliverables
What you will do
Serve as a resource and provide subject matter expertise for key internal stakeholders on environmental and social issues, policies and positions, taking into consideration industry best practices and standards as well as regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations
Identify and analyze a full range of known and emerging ESG issues relevant to the bank and produce high quality executive summaries to help shape our point of view on the topic
Manage and conduct environmental and social due diligence
Work with front line units to ensure risks are identified and escalated both in client onboarding as well as ongoing transactional review
Where necessary for specific region and working with Global ESG Risk Advisory, design, prepare and implement policies and procedures to address environmental and social risks
Drive understanding and awareness of applicable ESG policies, guidelines and project-specific requirements and ensure teams across the firm have the necessary controls, resources and training in place to adhere to requirements
Work collaboratively and proactively with line of business and support functions to develop content and drive awareness and collaboration to address key environmental and social risks
Support opportunity development business and thought leadership
Support LOBs in reviewing risks in sustainable product offerings providing insights on KPIs, guidance on product labelling aligned to internal taxonomy and industry frameworks etc.
Provide internal and external reporting guidance and expertise
Represent ESG on numerous working groups to drive progress and add content
Engage with external partners, including peer banks, NGOs and shareholders, to incorporate feedback and best practices; monitor industry trends including emerging risks, peer policies and public policy in region
