Your daily routine?
1. Master Agreements general advisory
Undertake legal analysis and provide documentation advice to relevant internal stakeholders in connection with master agreements for OTC derivatives trading (including both cleared and uncleared trading, and flow as well as structured transactions) or securities financing transactions, for counterparties onboarded or to be onboarded in the Asia Pacific region
2. Drafting and negotiation
Draft and negotiate master agreements with counterparties in the Asia Pacific region based on requests received, in accordance with parameters specified by relevant functions and applicable policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
3. Legal due diligence
Review legal issues pertaining to master agreements (including counterparty capacity and authority, enforceability of netting and collateral arrangements, and Asian jurisdiction specific issues), liaise with external legal advisers as necessary, and keep legal opinions and template documents updated in reference libraries.

The present offer is for a Hong Kong based position with the Master Agreements (MA) team who supports the OTC derivatives master agreements work for Global Markets (GM) within CIB.
In Hong Kong, there are currently 6 MA team members. The Global and APAC Head of Master Agreements, and the Deputy Head of Master Agreements APAC, are also based in Hong Kong.
The next steps?
The candidate will be part of a team working closely with the GM business, relationship managers, and clients in the APAC region to put in place and maintain a portfolio of master agreements to support Global Markets' business with its counterparties and clients.
The candidate will be able to develop an understanding of OTC derivatives master agreements technical issues in different APAC markets, establish strong interpersonal skills working with a broad group of business contacts and other internal stakeholders, and learn to feed and apply such know-how into the overall client onboarding and lifecycle process for OTC derivatives clients.

Are you our next VIE?
You have a Master’s degree in Law.
You have a solid knowledge of financial markets and products law and of digital culture. You have gained first experience (internships and work-study program included) in Legal for 2 years.
You speak advanced English and you have a very good command of MS Office (Excel, Word) and VBA.
You demonstrate adaptability and team spirit. Your analytical skills, your rigor and your creativity will be assets to progress on this mission.
