You will find yourself advising CXO and senior executives on how to become a data-driven organisation and digitise the operations.
This includes leading project teams on data strategy, data platform design, data platform implementation, finance and digital transformation engagements.
We are looking for a Data Governance Lead (Associate Director) who can work with our client's Data teams to define and establish a world-leading Data Governance capability through the definition and delivery of data governance standards and data management controls.

Banking and / or life insurance industry experience is essential
Experience in leading data governance projects
Data governance hands-on implementation experience
Understanding of core banking & insurance systems and use of ERP in financial services
Knowledge of key regulatory change initiatives (IFRS17, Basel III Reforms, RBC)
Confident to communicate with CXO
Lead data governance projects and guide and develop junior staff to drive client-ready deliverables
Conduct stakeholder workshops with senior stakeholders to frame, scope and drive data governance programs
Strategically create, refine and enhance the enterprise data strategy and roadmap
Develop data governance organization policies, procedures and structures
Provide technical expertise and guide data engineers on the implementation of data governance policies with market-leading platforms, including but not limited to, Informatica, Collibra, Apache tools
Defining the end-to-end data quality process from data acquisition to consumption in an enterprise.
Deployment of metadata management framework to cover data lineage, access control, data catalogue, data encryption, and anonymisation.
Work closely with Data Architects and Data Engineers to continuously refine platform offerings and architecture
Support defining data strategy in establishing and ensuring adherence to the client's data governance framework for data policies, standards, governance metrics, processes and data architecture
Support the wider KPMG team in pursuing new business opportunities, including the preparation of proposals and participation in proposal presentation
The individual will have
Bachelor degree or above, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Statistics;
8+ years of experience working on data governance projects
Experience in the banking or life insurance industries is a must
Self-driven and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
Strong sense of ownership to get the job done practically and pragmatically - critical thinking and ability to solve complex problems is a must
Prior consulting experience is desirable
Experienced in establishing and monitoring of data governance framework
In-depth knowledge on business and operation models of banking or insurance with a deep understanding of the Hong Kong regulatory environment
Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes and master data management tools
Knowledge in data management with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud)
Deep technical expertise implementing data quality management and monitoring using data quality platforms
Strategic understanding of the role data governance tools play in big data architecture
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese and / or Mandarin
