Head of OTA APAC
The Head of OTA APAC will be responsible for the overall leadership and commercial management of the APAC OTA business unit and develops, executes, and manages the sales strategy and business plan for existing customers and new business opportunities.
The individual will be an experienced commercial leader, demonstrating strong sales, strategic account and people management.
They build strong relationships at the highest levels within the customer and are regarded as a trusted adviser by senior stakeholders.
They will drive customer’s strategic imperatives as well as effectively managing the day-to-day sales organization; focusing on creating the future’ for their customers while effectively managing the present’.
Demonstrating a sense of presence and applying strong organizational skills, this role develops, executes, and manages the sales strategy and business plan for customers, with a focus on protecting existing revenue while also growing revenue with existing customers and driving new logo business.
This is a critical role for Travelport and reports to the Head, Agency Sales APAC whilst working extensively with peers in America, Europe and LATAM on global initiatives and broader customer opportunities.
Key areas ;
Client engagement, business development and commercial negotiation.
Strategy and operational execution.
Continuing development of solutions, propositions and services in the OTA space.
P&L management, budget and revenue forecasting.
Engaging with key stakeholders within the organization including product, legal, finance and technology.
Defining, driving and maintaining the business strategy for client engagement, development and forming long term beneficial partnerships.
Ensuring effective communication of the strategy to both internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate.
Leading the annual strategic planning and review process for the region, working with all relevant stakeholders across Travelport as necessary.
Managing the process for account planning and business development with a key focus on increasing revenues and margin.
Demonstrates thought leadership by directing the customer's application of technology to new business problems.
Leading and developing a team of highly respected, passionate and talented individuals.
Coach and support the team in sales strategy, opportunity management and career planning / development.
Collaboration with peers in Americas, EMEA and LATAM regions to ensure a consistent global approach and best practices
Solutions and propositions
Direct and review broader client propositions / solutions and provide thought leadership on direction and strategy within the OTA market.
Develop and oversee a process for capturing, analyzing and assessing product development opportunities
Skills, knowledge and experience.
A progressive leader with a demonstrable track record of customer engagement, sales development, stakeholder management / influencing and a background with the travel sector from either OTA or tech company perspective.
Technical aptitude and knowledge of propositions, solutions and offerings within the OTA space.
Demonstrable track record of exec level customer engagement and involvement in complex contract negotiations (legal, finance, commercial)
Track record of building revenue with large, multi-national customers
Strong internal stakeholder management and business unit representation.
P&L management and budgeting experience.
Fluent Chinese speaker a strong positive
