The TMT & Healthcare sector cluster with ING Wholesale Banking has the mandate to develop wholesale banking business for ING in these two sectors globally, with Healthcare being a new growth initiative.

The sector team is responsible for developing business with clients in these sectors by providing financing, advisory services and other wholesale banking products & services to clients through its teams based in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

In the Asia Pacific region, the team is predominantly based in Singapore with the Healthcare lead being based in Hong Kong.

We are seeking to recruit a bright, numerate and articulate employee at Vice President level who would enjoy a new challenge working in an established and successful team.

You will work closely with existing team members, and also with other teams within the bank.

The role requires an individual who has strong analytical skills, is numerate, has strong written and oral communication skills and can work closely with others.

We provide and arrange loan financings, advisory services and cross-sell the bank’s other products to our clients. Modelling experience, a good credit grounding, and prior corporate / investment banking experience would be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate is expected to work with team members including Client relationship managers / deal principals and other stakeholders to help with origination of new business with clients, ongoing client relationship management, execute new deals including financings and monitor / maintain existing portfolio.
  • The work envisaged encompasses developing and managing client relationships, assisting with industry / sector reviews and strategy, providing origination support to senior bankers including working on pitches and proposals, financial modelling, assisting with deal structuring, credit analysis and helping prepare credit packages, working with ING systems, helping with internal approval process and legal documentation on transactions.

    Networking with various external parties and working closely internally with other product partners and country relationship management team is required.

  • Conducting periodic credit reviews and assisting with portfolio maintenance / monitoring and portfolio administrative activity as required.
  • Ongoing assistance to the team head and senior bankers on management of the healthcare portfolio and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Working on other adhoc requests as required by Deal Principals and the Team Head on various client or deal related or administrative matters.
  • Developing marketing material and maintaining a current view of recent transactions, market benchmarks, economic and industry trends, and gathering relevant research.
  • Marketing materials include pitch books, industry reports, comparative tables and league tables as well as updating relevant credentials.

  • Helping with cross-selling the bank’s other products and services such as corporate finance advisory, debt capital markets, financial markets and transaction services.

    B) Specific knowledge & skills

    The key requirement for this role is to be able to provide / manage execution support, with the potential to develop over time to client relationship management and leading deal execution.

    Strong analytical skills are required, together with the ability to work within a cross-product team. Credit experience is preferred, together with an understanding of documentation and ING systems.

    Sector experience preferred, but we would consider candidates with experience in other sectors or products.

    C) Other important pre-requisites

  • Graduate or post-graduate degree holder in Business / Finance or other relevant disciplines
  • Approx. 6-7 years of investment / corporate banking experience (or other relevant field).
  • Strong financial analysis capability and good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in structuring, credit & deal execution in healthcare transactions in corporate / investment banking.
  • Understanding of legal documentation.
  • Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills.
  • An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of self-motivation.
