You will be employed under Philip Morris Asia Limited (PMAL) which operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc.
You will support the Smoke-Free Products at electronic Product Development Center (ePDC) in Hong Kong. As a design professional, you will drive through innovation, design and material quality and execution on our device and accessory programs.
In this position you will work closely with the Design stream lead, Physical ID team and product group ensuring strong Colour, Material, Finish (CMF) design across the product portfolio. You will :
Establish product design / CMF strategy, creative direction across key programs.
Work optimally cross functions to maintain the integrity of design intent, ensure high-quality industrial design / CMF output and deliver on expected timeline and scope.
Support product design / CMF conceptualisation, iterative methodology, & coordination based on different insights and material trends and NPS to identify product design / CMF opportunities that ultimately driving best-in class innovative design solutions to sophisticated design, proposition and brand issues.
Communicate design vision with both internal and external team members
Develop product design directions, strategies, prototypes, and visuals / CMF specifications in partnership
Have ownership and authority for CMF approvals during colour matching and industrialization throughout design development stages
Supervise CMF design development activities on-site at key suppliers for increased speed to market.
Provide CMF expertise to cross-functions and suppliers from device concept to production readiness.
Organize and manage CMF library & CMF mock-ups development. We’re looking for someone with :
University Graduate with BA / BS and / or MA / MS in a relevant design field.
Relevant industrial / product design experience (corporate / consultancy), with proven success cases in the market..
Strong Design Advocacy, delivering standard methodology in design within the programs. Ensuring right level of design quality is performed.
You have a comprehensive understanding of design expertise across design subject with a strong background in industrial design, colour material finishing and user interaction design.
Experience working with accessories and soft goods would be advantageous.
Good communicator (verbal, written, and visual) who has the ability to influence and build consensus both within a program teams and design team.
Collaboration mindset : Strong teammate with ability to proactively promote information sharing, one team spirit, and leading by example and showing rather than telling.
Excellent sense of form, use of colour and breadth of creative expression with an affinity for how things are made, an eye for detail, and a passion for quality from concept to execution with strong understanding of materials and processes beyond plastic and injection moulding.
