Job Summary :

Associate Manager of Merchandise Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring production of merchandise meets the established standards of Disney quality including reliability, usability, integrity and performance.

Associate Manager of QA consults with the Team to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Functions as an information source to Buying and Sourcing management when special and critical quality issues occurs.

This position assists and supports the company’s direction in managing suppliers to continuous improvement of Disney quality standards, validation process and verification activities while meeting local regulatory requirements

Responsibilities :

Partner with Creative Team and Sourcing and Procurement to develop short & long-term quality and compliance strategies and Quality Assurance standards for managed suppliers, setting priorities, objectives, and action plans to mitigate risk with measurable accountability

Lead, enforce and participate in factory audits. Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive action when necessary with regards to factory compliance improvement plan

Participates in continuous improvement initiatives by leading product optimization projects to improve product quality, reduce finished product rejects / complaints and drive improvement.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams by representing Merchandise Quality Assurance Function to attend project meetings to balance the need for maximizing revenue and regulatory requirements.

Educates and cultivates suppliers to ensure production of Disney merchandise meets desired shipment timeline and quality requirements.

Provides and educates suppliers direction on Disney’s compliance standards and continuous improvement of the quality management systems

Plan, conduct onsite inspection of products (domestically) and internationally to ensure finished product quality meets desired Disney standards and the consistency.

Evaluate supplier’s quality performance as well as factory compliance enhancement during the inspection process.

Prepare reports to communicate outcome of quality activities and provide analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system

Basic Qualifications :

Degree holder in Business, Merchandising or related disciplines with minimum 4 years relevant experience

Familiar with market trend, guest profile in order to develop products that will suit our guests’ needs and regulatory requirements

Familiar with product integrity, including product safety and character integrity, so that our guests will enjoy our products without any safety issues or any discrepancies on the character

Good handling on risk management, including diversifying risks using different factories

Familiar with testing safety standards and government regulations

Good communications skills with vendors and other parties in order to communicate effectively and efficiently

Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English in order to deal with different parties from different countries
