Tumour Virology Programme

The project provides a valuable opportunity for applicants who are experienced and highly motivated with an interest in veterinary infectious diseases and in contributing to study on viral diseases of companion animals.


  • Carry out research activities including design and optimization of qPCR, protein production and purification, immunoassays, and curation of a sample biobank;
  • ensure the adherence and compliance of procedures with the biological and chemical safety requirements; monitor, induce, provide training and supervision to students;
  • provide administrative support; and perform any other duties as assigned.


  • A PhD in Biomedical Science or a related discipline and no more than a total of 6 years at the University. Proven success in biomedical research;
  • excellent scientific writing skills; willingness and ability to adapt and acquire new skills; and meticulous attention to detail and record keeping are required.

    Fluency in both spoken and written English and Chinese would be an advantage. A track record of publication is preferred but not essential.

    Salary and Conditions of Service

    Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
