Reporting to the Principal Environmental Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing various consultancy projects and providing consultation to stakeholders.
Your Next Challenge
Responsible of Tree Survey and the submission of Tree Survey Report, Compensatory Planting Plan and Tree Felling Application according to the statutory requirements
Undertake habitat survey, flora survey and support ecological impact assessment and landscape and visual impact assessment
Develop practical measures to avoid, minimize, mitigate and / or compensate for ecological impacts in relation to habitat and flora species
Formulate ecological / landscape enhancement plan, landscape designs, establish criteria and produce landscape master plans, as well as conduct landscape audit and site inspection for infrastructure and development projects
Take responsibility for project delivery including time, cost, co-ordination and stakeholder management
Liaise with clients and relevant authorities on project matters
Provide technical support in client, stakeholder and public consultations; act as technical expert and provide advice and solutions to meet clients' requirements
Participate in preparation of bid submissions and business development activities
What You'll Need
Enthusiasm for tree preservation, flora conservation, and creating a positive environment for improving people's lives
Degree holder with major in Botany / Arboriculture / Horticulture / Environmental Science or Landscape-related discipline or equivalent;
holding a Master degree would be an advantage
Recognized professional qualification in related discipline, e.g. Certified Arborist of International Society of Arboriculture.
Tree Risk Assessment Qualification of ISA, or Professional Tree Inspection by LANTRA Awards is an advantage
Around 4 years of practical experience in flora survey and tree surveys, ecological and / or landscape impact assessment gained in consultancy or contractor setting
Demonstrable track record in consultancy projects in relation to the ecological and / or landscape baseline surveys and impact assessment (experience in landscape design will be an advantage);
tree survey and developing tree preservation or removal proposals
Successful experience of large complex multi-disciplinary projects will be an asset
Proficiency in computer graphics (e.g. PhotoShop, AutoCAD)
Good all-round communication skills and an interest in undertaking public consultations
Proactive, results-oriented, multi-tasker outlook
Track record in successful project delivery
An eye for detail and an appreciation of how landscape influences peoples’ experiences
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
