Part of the COO Regulatory Deployment & Remediation team focused on driving front to back execution for one or more specific regulations at a time, and becoming the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GBAM impact for that regulatory requirement.
Regulatory requirements have largely stemmed from G20-sponsored reforms encompassing mandatory clearing, margin on uncleared derivatives, risk-
mitigation standards, transaction reporting, higher standards on transparency and execution, etc. These reforms have been implemented through various global regulatory regimes such as Dodd-
Frank (US), EMIR (EU) and MiFID (EU). Many Asian regulators have also implemented or are poised to implement similar measures.
Engage LOB and control partner executives to plan and execute strategy, policy, operational, technological and organizational changes required to comply with a regulatory change
Coordinate cross border implementation
Coordinate across related regulations to ensure consistency in approach and identify / resolve any overlaps or conflicting regulatory guidance by business / jurisdiction
Identify training requirements and coordinate with compliance, HR L&LD and training stewards to execute
Escalate issues for senior management decisions where required
Knowledge of businesses and associated processes and controls; particularly Global Markets, but also GCIB and other areas of GBAM
While specific regulatory expertise is not required for the role but prior experience with regulatory programs would be valuable
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Takes initiative and demonstrates a focused desire to understand responsibilities and drive / implement improvements
Highly proficient in data aggregation, integration, and analysis
Experience of working with technical teams and translating technical concepts to business audiences
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to simplify complex information into messages targeted to various levels of leadership, as well as, confidence to field questions directly from Senior Line of Business Supervisors
