Based in Hong Kong, the successful candidate will join be part of Global Economics, a Global team across Hong Kong, London, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Bangalore and New York.
The position entails economic analysis of Greater China and Asia, servicing both internal and external clients.
Full coverage of Taiwan, supplementary coverage of mainland China and general Asia
Preparation of the economic scenario and forecasting key macro economic variables for Taiwan over a five year horizon
Preview, live comment and post-release analysis of key data releases from Taiwan, and mainland China in Asian trading hours
Thematic / cross-asset research - Supporting the Lead Asia Economist and working with strategists in analysis of market-
relevant structural trends of China and Asia region
Assisting daily publication, producing regular thought pieces and quarterly outlook on Taiwan; participating in production of Asian thematic reports
Opportunities to present to external clients, internal sales and trading teams on our economic views, depending on the level of experience
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Lead Asia Economist based in Paris.
3-6 years economic research experience within the financial services industry or a public sector institution (IMF,OECD, central bank, etc)
English required; Chinese (Mandarin) preferred
Technical Skills IT
Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, DataStream (or other database platform) and R (or other econometric software)
Masters / Bachelors Degree in Economics
