NorthBay Solutions (NBS) is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales Support) with 10+ years of architecture and design experience.
The Solutions Architect / Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant actively drives and manages the technology evaluation and technical solutions offering part of the sales process.
This is an integral member of the Sales and delivery team, working as the key technical advisor. To be successful in this role, the Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant must be able to articulate technology and communicate the value of our solutions / services to business and technical prospective users and decision-makers.
Your broad responsibilities will include : owning the customer and partner technical engagement end-to-end, including diving deep and being hands-on with AWS technology;
evangelizing and educating customers and NBS Architects; leading formal and informal AWS training classes; removing technical sales blockers through knowledge transfer and partnerships;
defining implementation and transition architectures; helping to respond to Requests for Information(RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and achieving success with other specific technical projects as needed.
To achieve those goals and building on your broad background and technical breadth and depth in security, networking, operating systems, storage, and application architecture and implementation you will develop expertise in all AWS services and technologies, and a deep understanding of how customer applications and services are best built and operated on the AWS cloud computing platform.
Play a pivotal role as a presales specialist / solution architect while developing in-depth knowledge & insights to customers of all products and solutions.
Provide technical pre-sales support, presentations, demos, prepare business cases, RFP responses, proposals, the architectural design for direct and channel sales teams work, closely with clients and prospects to understand / interpret technology requirements and collaboratively design, recommend, and document individual technology solutions.
Be able to understand the business challenges in each business vertical and be able to research and / or share experience in solving those through the use of technology.
Interact with prospects up to C- level and build rapport through solution selling based on the big picture to satisfy their requirements
Deep understanding of enterprise technologies and business context
Actively research and discuss competitive information in the marketplace with the sales team and prospects
Creating, building, and Architecting cloud computing Solutions for NBS Customers
Deep-dive technical discussions around design and the innate curiosity to always keep your technical skills current while maintaining a pulse on industry trends.
Design, architect and document cloud and big data software solutions.
Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
Champions a structured approach to business application solutions.
Understand the challenges being addressed by an engagement and collaborate with team members and clients to deliver a technical solution that meets the unique needs of our clients.
Create quality deliverables to communicate technical solutions to appropriate audiences
Provide technical guidance and coaching to architects and engineers
Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of the comfort zone acquiring new skills.
Learn continuously, leveraging NorthBay training resources and self-directed training, sharing knowledge and skills with others.
The ability to understand the business goals and high-level requirements and effectively define a solution and be able to explain to C-level executives and technology leaders (CIOs CTOs CFOs etc.)
5+ years Presale’s experience with Cloud
10+ years of Professional Services experience with major System Integrators
Strong technical capability with Data Analytics / Big Data, Machine Learning, Image Recognition / AI, RPA / Robotic Process Automation), Application Development, Public Cloud / Private Cloud
Hands-on experience on technology sales (end to end from engagement to close)
Ability to answer TCO-related questions early on and convince customers with high-level details and case study comparisons in favor of AWS Solutions
Ability to hold convincing discussions with client’s technical and management teams.
Ability to present and answer questions related to the comparison requirements of customers to enable and lead them to technology solutions that make a difference
Be Passionate to help customers to build a deep understanding of new cloud platforms and new application architectures.
Must have a knack to design systems and solve technical problems
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across all levels
Architecture, Databases and Storage Solutions
Strong understanding of CS fundamentals, Object Oriented Design and Data Structures
Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
Must have a strong understanding of software development processes.
Strong aptitude for learning new technologies related to Big Data and Cloud
Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities
Qualifications (Must Haves : )
Language : English (fluent), Cantonese (fluent), Mandarin
Experience with Advanced Cloud Services (i.e., Amazon Web Service, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud) at least one is required
Speaking and Presentation Skills : Must be able to conduct small and large group presentations in a professional manner.
10+ years of experience and proficiency in the following skills and technologies is mandatory : Cloud, Virtualization, Enterprise
Object-Oriented programming skills, including strong design patterns knowledge
SQL and No-SQL databases
High-Level understanding of Mobile Application Development and its architecture
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent
Qualifications (Nice to Haves : )
Regional experience across APAC key markets - Singapore, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, HK, Taiwan, etc. would be considered as a big plus
Experience in any programming language (C / C++, Java, C#, Ruby, Python or Perl). Proficiency in the following technologies is desired but not mandatory : no-SQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, HBase etc.)
Education and Experience :
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences or related fields required from a renowned university
