The Job

Reporting to the Assistant Director of People and Culture, the Assistant Manager for Compensation and Benefits supports the needs of the business and proactively endeavors to manage a sound C&B program through strategic and resourceful measures.

This role involves working alongside operational managers and Finance team in managing the payroll cycle, overseeing and administering employees’ salary, benefits, and work injury compensation, including regular data analysis and market comparisons to propose competitive practices and policies.

In addition, there will be an active participation in designing a pay-for-performance plan, providing expertise in retirement plans, leave policies, wellness and insurance programs.

This position requires a leader that has creativity and critical thinking skills for processes and project management. As a member of the People and Culture department, you will have the ability to multi-

task in a fast paced environment, and handle conflicting priorities whilst meeting tight deadlines. You will also have the versatility to answer inquires which include but not limited to Benefits, Compensation, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development.

Responsibilities :

  • Assess Attendance Records of all departments and employees, conduct reconciliation to ensure accuracy in payroll based on employee movement, vacation and overtime balances records
  • Design and participate in salary surveys, keep abreast of current market trends to remain competitive, and ensure that policies and practices are in compliance with laws and regulations
  • Conduct regular audits of insurance records and worker injury compensation, ensuring that all claims are kept current and settled promptly
  • Participate in monthly Labor Management meetings and labor cost analysis
  • Negotiate annual premiums and provisions with medical service providers, and manage quality of their services for employees
  • Maintain employment files and data accuracy in reports and in Time Attendance System, Payroll System and HR information system
  • Initiate, organize, and engage actively in employee engagement activities
  • Assist in ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Requirements :

  • A college Degree with 3 years of direct compensation and benefits experience for about 1000+ employee population
  • Solid and clear communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external customers
  • Well versed with Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and related regulations
  • Computer and systems savvy, ie. MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, vlookup, pivot table etc.
  • High proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Passionate, creative and sensitive to different cultures and trends
