University graduate with minimum of 10 years hands on Technical Fit experience of which at least 5 years in managerial level

Relevant experience in babies & kid's wear categories is essential

Exceptional knowledge in pattern and fits

Knowledge in field relative software such as Gerber or PDM

Thorough understanding of garment fit process along with pattern making, grading, trims and garment construction

Excellent communications skills in spoken / written English

Strong strategic thinking and management skills

Results oriented and good time management

Multi-tasking in various projects and meeting plans

Strong people skills e.g. resolving team conflicts


Product quality management

  • Directly responsible for managing the technical specification package for fit, construction, grading and quality information complete, updated and accurate;
  • and to approve procedures following company quality standards and requirements.

    Responsible for overseeing key fittings, to ensure standardization and timely approval of samples

    Evaluate of grade rules and sizing to ensure that the needs of Carter’s customers are completely satisfied

    Ensure the team performs early risk assessment on potential quality and safety issues and advise necessary precautions to merchandising / factories / QA prior to production commencement

    Measure and review vendors / factories’ garment submit are meet the Carter’s standard

    Work closely with US Tech team to develop and maintain standard blocks fits, and grades and sample fit approval procedures

    Collaborate with US Designer team to create new fits and aesthetic details

    International travel is required occasionally

    Team leadership

    Partner with Director to create and implement strategies to improve processes, procedures, workflow, and structure of the Technical Design team

    Lead and build a technical fit team of 10+ Technical Designers and Associate Technical Designers to support the growth and ensure operations of the team align with Carter’s standard procedures and processes

    Monitor and establish effective communication connection and workflow between Technical Design, Merchandising, and the Vendor base to ensure smooth work processes align with Carter’s standards for fit, make, safety and legal requirements

    Drive initiatives to increase productivity of the Technical Design team and build cross-functional business relationships

    Define structured training programs for new join members and continuous improving proficiency

    Oversee, identify and support the needs of your direct reports : coach and train in the management of their product area
