Manulife Asset Management (MAM) is the asset management division of Manulife Financial Corporation. Manulife Asset Management Hong Kong (MAM-HK) is the Regional Wealth Operations in Asia and serves as the hub for Wealth Operations in other Asian territories (including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and Japan).

The position reports to the Director of Wealth Operations and is primarily responsible for the areas below across Asia.

Responsibilities :

Responsible for Manulife One Fund Account ( MOFA’) operations of wealth operations Hong Kong including but not limited to client onboarding, maintenance, transaction processing, settlement, cash movement, cash reconciliation, reporting, service maintenance with stakeholders and monitoring of service quality from MOFA service providers.

This is a senior role within the Asia Wealth and Asset Management Operations group.

MOFA is an open architecture platform includes in-house and external funds.

Major responsibilities and requirement for this role :

Responsibility :

  • Ensure the processes which include but not limited to MOFA client onboarding, KYC / AML, name search, Client Agreement and client’s suspicious transactions are enforcement of and adherence to company guidelines as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the processes of client’s MOFA instructions which include but not limited to Subscription, Redemption, Switching, Transfer, Cash instruction, Settlement Bank reconciliation and Change of Record are enforcement of and adherence to the cut-
  • off time of MOFA Funds and requirement from multiple Fund Houses.

  • Ensure settlement instructions which include but not limited to subscription to MOFA multiple fund houses, redemption / cash proceeds to investors and fees payments are enforcement of and adherence to the MOFA cut-off time.
  • Ensure reconciliation of MOFA holdings and cash are well and accuracy managed.
  • Ensure the processes of FATCA / CRS reporting for MOFA are enforcement of regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure MOFA reporting with internal stakeholders / peers are distributed on time.
  • Ensure collaboration with stakeholders is well managed.
  • Ensure projects of MOFA operations are being well managed and completed on schedule.
  • Ensure resources in good utilization and management for job allocation.
  • Ensure MOFA team’s job rotation, training, communication are well in placed and managed
  • Ensure MOFA team performance is well monitored and managed
  • Ensure to achieve business and team’s goal which assigned by supervisor / management

    MOFA Operations Obligation / Preparation

  • Ensure enforcement of and adherence to company guidelines as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review existing process and procedures with a view to identify opportunities for improvement or re-engineering
  • Develop improvement plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points / potential risks and preventive measures
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Monitor of service quality delivery from MOFA service providers.
  • On time reporting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Projects

  • Assist to co-ordinate and implement MOFA projects and initiatives.
  • Assist to co-ordinate for Asia Wealth and Asset Management Operations projects and initiatives.
  • Knowledge / Skills / Competencies / Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with over 10 years’ relevant working experience, particularly in multiple product platform distribution operations / wealth management operations with nominee structure.
  • Experience in process and oversight of multiple funds distribution operations with nominee structure.
  • Experience in process and oversight for settlement, cash movement, cash reconciliation and control including but not limited to settlement payment with fund houses, investors and relevant fees payments from investors and fund houses.
  • Experience in people supervisory / managerial for over 5 years
  • Experience and knowledge in client (individual and corporation) on boarding including but not limited to KYC / AML checking and monitoring.
  • Experience and knowledge in order placement, execution and management under nominee structure.
  • Experience and knowledge in FATCA and CRS reporting.
  • Experience in project management with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in monitor service quality with external service providers.
  • Strong sense of risk and immediate alert management is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Possess sound general knowledge of financial markets.
  • Proactive / can-do approach and attitude. Thorough attention to detail and accuracy of delivery.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines and the flexibility to work in a fast changing environment.
  • Proven experience influencing and working collaboratively with internal clients.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to research issues where the resolution is not readily apparent.
  • Computer literacy with common PC applications (i.e. familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & PowerPoint), and experience with Transfer Agency, operations of fund distributor and Portfolio Accounting systems an advantage.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
