Newly Created Role With Regional Responsibilities
Reporting Directly to Regional CIO and Involvement In Key IT Transformation Projects
The incumbent will drive key transformational technology strategies and initiatives across the Asia region (8 countries).
Partnering closely with Country CIOs and business leadership, she / he will be instrumental in discovering and implementing system synergies across markets to transform traditional teams to proactive and customer-
oriented teams (Design Thinking and Agile)
Proactively recommend and lead opportunities to maximize business value leveraging technology across the region (e.g. new strategies, projects or organizational initiatives).
Oversee IT strategy (short and long term) and planning to ensure strong business delivery, needed transformations are implemented, and financials are aligned to support needs across countries and region.
Drive significant projects, coordinates with business and IT project leadership to ensure strong customer focus and business value delivery.
Maintains frequent contact with country operations, through the CIO or other key staff, to ensure continued ongoing alignment with business and appropriate adaptations to changes in business, market or technology imperatives.
Also ensures IT Organizational structure and talent are properly aligned to best service the business.
Develops and ensures implementation of appropriate infrastructure or applications minimum standards. Ensures that special attention is paid to critical standards, such as security, data center and business processes that can significantly impact business operations.
Independently conduct IT due diligence activities for proposed new acquisitions or startup companies as required
Ability to be â€œhands onâ€ and go deep to ensure key initiatives or risks are addressed as required. Able to strike a balance between being consultative and â€œhands onâ€ .
Interfaces with Liberty Mutual Global IT Organization to work through key strategy, initiatives and standards
Minimum of 10 to 15 years relevant experience with a Bachelorâ€™s / Masterâ€™s degree in technical or business discipline.
Experience in driving IT transformation highly regarded
Thorough knowledge of all areas of information technology including applications, infrastructure development, architectural concepts, systems development lifecycle, information management, portfolio management (production systems, release planning, change management), and infrastructure environments, tools and processes.
Excellent communication, problem solving, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the confidence to resonate with senior business leadership and gain buy in.
Ability to communicate complex IT concepts in a simple understandable manner highly valued.
Strong commercial acumen with in-depth understanding of how IT strategies and plans impact our country operations.
Project management capabilities (Agile / Design Thinking) and drive a cohesive team environment
Adept at navigating a complex, multi-platform distributed environment and international work experience essential for success in this role
Travelling of 20% to 40 % is expected in this role
