We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager- Complex Investigations, Compliance.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Works in collaboration with investigation specialists in the Complex Investigations Team to identify and investigate financial crime threats
  • Supports strategies and initiatives among reporting teams in support of FCR objectives and ensure for the effective execution of Complex Investigations
  • Supports execution of regional investigative procedures or approved country variances, which are designed to ensure operational effectiveness
  • Supports effective information sharing across Financial Crime Investigations, and with stakeholders
  • Supports management in the process of sharing investigative findings with other parts of the organization for follow-on mitigation action, and results recorded
  • Where appropriate, escalates significant financial crime threats and management issues to senior management to allow appropriate action
  • Proactively identifies key emerging financial crime threats
  • Assists Investigators in identifying best practices and procedures to be followed at different stages
  • Assists Investigators in providing guidance and solutions to the LoB and / or involved areas, in timely and effective manner for each of the identified cases, focusing on control weaknesses and referrals to the LoB within the parameters of Refer For Action (RFA)
  • Assists to maintain meticulous case management records and evidence of case progression and decision making
  • Requirements

  • Previous experience in investigations, analytics or similar areas is desirable
  • A good understanding of the current regulatory environment and expectations, relevant regulations, codes, and HSBC Group Standards, as well as their underlying purpose to mitigate risk to the financial system.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • A strong individual performer and team player
  • A desire to learn and expand knowledge base on FCR issues and their impacts on the Bank
  • A desire to become an ASP Complex Team Investigator
  • A strong report writer (English).
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise workload
  • Creativity and willingness to take the initiative
  • Good analytical skills with an enquiring mind and a good eye for detail
  • Knowledge of PC based systems and other systems used by the ASP Complex Investigations Team is desirable
