We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager- Complex Investigations, Compliance.
Works in collaboration with investigation specialists in the Complex Investigations Team to identify and investigate financial crime threats
Supports strategies and initiatives among reporting teams in support of FCR objectives and ensure for the effective execution of Complex Investigations
Supports execution of regional investigative procedures or approved country variances, which are designed to ensure operational effectiveness
Supports effective information sharing across Financial Crime Investigations, and with stakeholders
Supports management in the process of sharing investigative findings with other parts of the organization for follow-on mitigation action, and results recorded
Where appropriate, escalates significant financial crime threats and management issues to senior management to allow appropriate action
Proactively identifies key emerging financial crime threats
Assists Investigators in identifying best practices and procedures to be followed at different stages
Assists Investigators in providing guidance and solutions to the LoB and / or involved areas, in timely and effective manner for each of the identified cases, focusing on control weaknesses and referrals to the LoB within the parameters of Refer For Action (RFA)
Assists to maintain meticulous case management records and evidence of case progression and decision making
Previous experience in investigations, analytics or similar areas is desirable
A good understanding of the current regulatory environment and expectations, relevant regulations, codes, and HSBC Group Standards, as well as their underlying purpose to mitigate risk to the financial system.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
A strong individual performer and team player
A desire to learn and expand knowledge base on FCR issues and their impacts on the Bank
A desire to become an ASP Complex Team Investigator
A strong report writer (English).
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise workload
Creativity and willingness to take the initiative
Good analytical skills with an enquiring mind and a good eye for detail
Knowledge of PC based systems and other systems used by the ASP Complex Investigations Team is desirable
