Vice President - Business Manager : APAC Financial Institutions Group and Official Institutions Group | Hong Kong

About this role

The Business Manager is a VP level role based in Hong Kong. Reporting to the COO, Asia, he / she will work closely with the APAC Head of Financial Institutions Group (FIG), APAC Head of Official Instituions Group (OIG) and Head of APAC Global Consultant Relations (GCR), to support growth of the Insurance and Official Instituions business and development of strategic partnerships with dial mover insurance clients.

The successful incumbent will have three primary areas of responsibility :

Project Management

Key Responsibilities :

Business Strategy

Develop and implement strategy for the FIG and OIG segments in the region

Facilitate account planning for strategic insurance accounts

Maintain relationship with strategic and dial mover insurers

Stay tune of relevant regulatory changes and analyse impact to client needs

Business Management

Design and implement management information tools pertaining to profitability and efficiency of the FIG and OIG / GCR business

Coordinate all aspects of financial planning, forecasting and reporting for covered segments

Work with support functions (such as technology, risk, operations, and compliance) to enable efficient and proper functioning of the sales process

Support APAC Head of Financial Institutions Group (FIG), APAC Head of Official Instituions Group (OIG) and Head of APAC Global Consultant Relations (GCR) on talent development and team management

Execution of cross-functional projects and initiatives

Take responsibility and drive key FIG and OIG / GCR strategic projects (platform or product range management) or key business initiatives, including planning, coordination through to execution and completion

Assess key operational procedures, core capabilities, regulatory risks and ability to execute against potential plans

Roll-out global initiatives in APAC as they pertain to the FIG and OIG segments

Global Coordination

Connect BlackRock teams within and outside APAC on coverage of cross-regional clients

Work closely with Strategic Partner Program (SPP) on global initiatives

Experience and Qualifications Required :

Skill / Capabilities

Strategic vision and ability to articulate business priorities

Track record of maintaining collaborative external relationships

Articulate and strong problem solving and analytical skills : able to gather and synthesize information, draw conclusions and summarize issues for an executive audience

Strong stakeholder management; excellent communication & influencing skills

A collaborative team player, able to work with people of all levels

Demonstrated ability to work and deliver results with limited oversight

High level of self-motivation and good business judgment

High degree of proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong knowledge of the region, its markets and institutions is a plus


8-10 year experience / expertise working in professional or financial services (law, finance, consulting)
