Overview of job

MediaCom is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally.

We are currently looking for a Planning Manager / Associate Director to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing clients of international brands, participating in integrated media planning and providing recommendation in digital strategies.

You will also assist team leader in coaching junior staff.

Reporting of the role

In this role, your goals will be :

In 3 months :

  • Completed inductions with internal teams and key media owners.
  • Understand the business and brand situation of key clients, way of working and communication flow with agency partners.
  • Completed all the tools training (if not familiar with the systems already) and understand how we develop an integrated screen plan.
  • Responded to your first brief and presented these recommendations to the client.
  • Provided constructive feedback about the day-to-day job duty of junior members of the team.
  • In 6 months :

  • Identified actionable consumer insights that can inform our strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to judge ideas in terms of factual accuracy and relevance to brief.
  • Progressed work independently with other internal departments, as well as external parties which gained client’s trust.
  • Debated constructively with clients and sold in the agency’s recommendation.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovative mindset in client’s briefs and problem solving.
  • In 12 months :

  • Led the strategic response to brief, incorporating inputs from other team members and agencies to create an integrated recommendation.
  • Developed a point of view on what’s right for the brand in terms of budgets, weights, new opportunities, regionality and test and learns.
  • Supported the Business Director and had a point of view on other brands within the portfolio as and when required.
  • Identified opportunities in gain additional revenue from existing clients.
  • Actively participated in new business pitches.
  • What your day job looks like at MediaCom :

  • Manage all day to day media planning and client service activities associated with the assigned account;
  • Lead conversations with our agency partners;
  • Ensure our recommendations deliver the brand’s business and communications objectives;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, agency partners and vendors;
  • Supervise a team comprised of 4-5 junior team members.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • 7-10 years’ work experience in business / advertising consultancy, market research / analytics or a strategic planning role, of which at least 3-
  • 4 years have been spent working on media / communications planning related business

  • Minimum of 7 years’ media agency experience handling multi-national clients;
  • Strong digital knowledge especially in performance and analytics areas.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Strong organizational and numeracy skills;
  • Proactive can do’ attitude;
