The role holder will report into Head of Business Planning Management to support the business planning and performance tracking & management of the Private Banking business in Hong Kong

Strategy and Execution

  • Assist Head of Business Planning Manager and Regional Head of Private Banking ('PvB') to develop and implement strategy by market and region with clear action plans.
  • Support Regional Head of PvB strategic agenda, aligned with the PvB and One Bank agenda.
  • Co-ordinate, prioritize initiatives with strategy roadmap.
  • Sales Management

  • Work closely with Finance and Product teams in reviewing progress against business targets and objectives and productivity ratios.
  • Work closely with Market Heads to implement action plan to achieve revenues, NNA growth and cost control.
  • Assist Regional Head of PvB to prepare for meetings.
  • Prepare monthly business reports for Regional Head.
  • Represent front office to attend meetings.
  • Develop framework to facilitate sales effectiveness.
  • Support Management on a daily basis to manage the business.
  • Organization effectiveness and Improvement

  • Coordinate Front Office feedback and specify business requirements.
  • Improve organizational effectiveness and resources efficiency by coordinating resources.
  • Initiate, lead and / or participate in change initiatives and their subsequent implementation.
  • Interface with all support areas on issues resolution and organization improvement.
  • Administration and Control

  • Resolve issues pertaining to client on-boarding, compliance, infrastructure and AML.
  • Follow up on audit, training, complaints and ad-hoc administrative issues.
  • Work with businesses to define process and procedure gaps.
  • Providing on-going support to the market on ad-hac requests.
  • Work closely with other business support units to address business requirements and priorities. Maximize the alignment between front and back functions.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions to ensure the control is in place and the market activities are aligned with the local regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
  • Booking Centre Management

  • Day-to-day management of HK Booking Centre including account opening support, account transactions, credit, loan and investment related transactional processing and general support to overseas Relationship Managers booking into HK as prescribed by respective SLA.
  • Act as a liaison for client accounts managed by overseas CA, attend to CA enquiries and process direct client instructions as prescribed by SLA.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to fulfil client requests and administrative follow-ups.
  • Updating various centers on changes to HK process or documentation.
  • Facilitate overseas RMs booking business into HK through the Booking centre unit to acquire net new AUM and generate revenues within target parameters.
  • Call Centre Administration

  • Supervising the day-to-day management of walk-in clients and handling clients’ calls, emails, faxes, and EODs for private banking services.
  • Attending to client account opening and servicing issues channel through web-based GL7 contact template, email and hotline.
  • Escalating issues to respective levels regarding Expressions of Disappointment (EOD).
  • Prepare regular management report to monitor the status of walk-in clients.
  • Referral Management (Private Banking)

  • Manage all PvB business referral programs such as immigration CIES, UK Visa scheme, etc.
  • Coordinate internal cross segments business referrals i.e. to / from Priority Banking, Business Banking, Commercial Banking and Corporate Institutional Banking.
  • Briefing PvB Team Leader or Sales Head on referral prospect contact history and processing assignment of CA or RM.
  • Work closely with PvB Finance team to monitor status of referral or successful closure and amount of AUM.
  • Provide regular update of referral progress to Management.
  • Work along with Market Head on periodic risk assessment.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Independent and able to work without direct supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills : networking, negotiation and influencing.
  • Excellent communication skills : verbal , written, and presentations.
  • Discreet - deal with highly confidential information on a daily basis.
  • High degree of resilience combined with sensitivity and awareness of cultural issues.
  • Well organized.
  • Strong in operational control and risk assessment.
  • Cantonese is required and Mandarin is desired.
